Ultimate Bev Pkg - 3 questions

Recommended Posts

We will be sailing in less than 2 weeks. My husband and I are thinking of purchasing the UBP for ourselves. I have read up on this but still have a few questions. I know the package is $56 pp. Does that include the gratuity or is that extra and do you pay that as you go or a one time charge when you purchase?

Is the self serve wine included?

How many beverages can be purchases at one time? For example if its just one at a time does that mean I have to go to the bar with my husband every time we get drinks?

Oh and I forgot one more question - is the price limit $8.50 or 9.50? Ive read mixed answers on this board.

Thank you.

1- does include tip but we tip extra you don't have to as tip is included...I didn't tip many extra as I found many not friendly or they kept forgetting what I had ordered and had to repeat once even twice what I wanted then I didn't tip I only tipped at the Martini bar because we were there late for martini's daily and August in O'Sheehans I slipped a 20 I used him a lot while my other half was in the casino.

2- No self wine is not included

3- one drink at a time per prepaid card, they will look at both cards to see if you paid but may only take one card to insert in register

4- price limit is $8.50 most drinks fall under that with exception of martini's although I asked for apple martini with gibbeys which is cheaper vodka and that was included

Your tip is included in the purchase price, but only equals out to about $30 per server by the end of the week. We found tipping $1/drink extra got us much better and friendlier service. (The staff don’t seem to be fans of the UBP.)

Is the self serve wine included? We did not have that option

At dinner, the server will hold your card and keep your tab open, until the end of dinner. Going to a bar you both need to be present. After day one/two, they staff recognized we were together and were in the same room, so we would just sign one slip for both beverages.

Oh and I forgot one more question - is the price limit $8.50 or 9.50? Ive read mixed answers on this board. A simple tip of $1/ drink really makes a difference in the service you get. I tried to get different marinis at different bars. Some bartenders (who we saw frequently) would work with us to get us the martini we wanted. While other bartenders were much more strict.

Have a great trip !!

Just to clarify (others have answered to everything else):

The price (Bon Voyage gifts) is $49/person/day + 15% auto-gratuity = $56.35/person/day.

So it's $49 per person per day without gratuity and $56 per person per day gratuity included. :)

The answers are on the NCL website. There is also a long thread here all about it as well. It has slipped to page two.

Note below that the 15% is ADDED to the charge.

Hi Everyone, We got the Free UBP and UDP for our upcoming cruise next week on the Breakaway. Are the tips already included in this? I know we can tip extra if we want, but just want to know if anyone had this free package already and the tip was added on.

Is the self serve wine included?

Other posters have said the self serve wine IS included. Can anyone confirm?

I've read several accounts that it IS included. Even one poster described to me how to swipe my card and such after I'd asked here if it was included. As long as the price is under $10/glass, and not a more expensive wine in the machine. You'll swipe your card and make selection. If $10 or under, you won't be charged. If higher, you will. I don't have firsthand knowledge, but I'm going to trust the numerous accounts of this I've read.
