Miracle Overnight in Puerto Vallarta

I'm veteran of the Mexican Riviera cruises and have been looking to go on the Miracle to experience a different ship. We're planning to go spring next year and I noticed a sailing in March that reflects 2 days in Puerto Vallarta as opposed to the 2 in Cabo San Lucas we've done the last couple times when we've gone on the Splendor. Can someone in the know tell me if the ship pulls away from the dock for the night so the casino can open (like Cabo) or will the ship literally overnight in Puerto Vallarta (we're hoping this is the case!). We're pretty excited about doing a Spirit class again. We love the Pride and the Spirit and can't wait to try the Miracle! Thanks!

We booked for February 22nd just for the overnight in PV. Have cruised to PV many times on the Spirit but never had the chance to enjoy the night life there.

There are some very good rates on 4K category cabins, FYI. If you are interested be sure to pick one between the lifeboats for some view.

We did an unplanned overnight in PV on the Splendor last year. Because of some leftover hurricane weather, our itinerary was changed and we ended up overnight in PV, at the dock all night and we saw the most fantastic lightening storm we've ever seen, a storm the 5 of us will never forget!!!

I was on the Splendor in January when we ended up spending 2 nights and 3 days in PV. It was due to scheduled work being done on the shaft seals. Our 7 day cruise turned into an 8 day. We were thrilled with 3 days in PV. We are sailing on the Miracle on February 8 because of the overnight in PV.

So you say it stays docked over night?

Are you allowed to come and go any time?

That's a very good question. I wonder if there is a requirement that says you must be on board by so and so time "just in case". Or do they play it by ear?

We were on the Splendor last September, and had an overnight in PV. You were able to come and go as you please. Many people stayed out all night, some got hotels in various areas just to stay somewhere else. There is no time restriction at all. Many of the crew were out having a blast!

We thought it was a great experience, being able to see PV at night, and experience more of PV than originally scheduled! It was nice not having to worry about what time to be back to the ship to board! Lots of excursions available at the pier, so our day filled quickly!
