cherbear4000 Posted August 26, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2013 It can be on a port day, but not while the ship is docked in port. If you are in port, 2-10 than it will not be that day. So it would only be on a port day where the ship left port earlier in the day before dinner and allowed enough time for people to get ready (like 2pm for example). golfadj Posted August 26, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 26, 2013 It is often a port day but wont be on a day your in port till 10 pm. The main focus is for them to sell pictures so they will not do it when many people will be off the ship.

lauraezzell Posted August 26, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 26, 2013 On my last 2 cruises, we were in Nassau until 8:00 p.m. and we had formal/elegant night both times. We were pulling out of port during dinner.
zdcatc12 Posted August 26, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 26, 2013 I know our 3 night Ecstasy cruise had elegant night while we were in Nassau from noon until 6 am.

jkrislc Posted August 26, 2013 #12 Share Posted August 26, 2013 On the Glory out of Boston, one of the formal nights was on a port day as we only had two sea days, one of which was the last night of the cruise. However, it was on a port day when everyone had to be onboard before first seating dinner.

Ocean Dancer Posted August 26, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 26, 2013 We are on an 11 day repo and just wondering if anyone has had a formal night the last night, the same night you put your luggage out? I would think not, and never have had that happen, but our roll call thinks different. After free drinks, and late dinner, how could one relax? Anyone? wantocruisemore Posted August 26, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 26, 2013 So I guess I will see when I get on board lol You could always check reviews from your itinerary/ship or even post a question about formal nights on that ship with that itinerary. That should get you the answer.

OCruisers Posted August 26, 2013 #19 Share Posted August 26, 2013 We've never had a Formal Night on EITHER the first or last night on any cruise. On the first night suitcases sometimes take a while to get to cabins. On the last night suitcases need to be put packed and put outside the cabin door.
