CruisinChris Posted November 3, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2013 So - at Port Everglades - which deck do you embark (or disembark) through?

dmwnc1959 Posted November 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Is this correct? I would have assumed Deck 5 Plaza Deck by looking at the deck plans.

I can't imagine them using deck 6.
dmwnc1959 Posted November 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 5, 2013 We walked off of the ship Sun. on Deck 6. If I may ask, where was your waiting area that had you using the Fiesta Deck for the exit? Was the disembarkation gangway ramp forward or aft of Alfredo's? Thanks for helping me understand. :)
dmwnc1959 Posted November 5, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Exactly where we walked off on Sunday October 27th. I can't imagine them using deck 6. It is interesting, as I assumed all of the embarkation/disembarkation via gangway in Fort Lauderdale for Royal Princess would have been done at the stations just aft of Celebrations or International Cafe.

Waiting area was in the Casino.
iceman2a Posted November 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Disembarked last Sunday off of the TA. Left on Deck 6, forward of Alfredo's. Waiting area was in the Casino. Also disembarked this past Sunday at that location. Waiting area was Club 6 next to the casino. There were 2 gangways and if I remember correctly the other was where we embarked from on Tuesday further aft and could have been deck 5.

Correct -- We embarked on Deck 5; think that it was for the "WOW Factor". Problem was getting to the Fore/Aft Elevators. Mid-Ship Elevators were packed. Had to walk up the steps to Deck 7 to go to the Fore/Aft Elevators. Then, as has been mentioned, Fore/Aft Elevators were not "synced". Wanted to get into the Control Panels and install a "jumper" to sync them.

GeeDunk Posted November 5, 2013 #13 Share Posted November 5, 2013 What was the problem getting to the forward elevators on deck 5? Our Cabin was located in the Aft Section on the Ship. So, going to the Forward Elevators, on Deck 5, meant walking Forward; and, then, walking Aft the entire length of Deck 14. It was much easier to walk up to Deck 7; and, then walk Aft to the Aft Elevators.
CruisinChris Posted November 5, 2013 Author #14 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Gotcha - I interpreted your statement to mean you had a problem/difficulty or were unable to walk to the forward elevators. Rather, it was inconvenient for you. Thanks!
caribill Posted November 5, 2013 #15 Share Posted November 5, 2013 Exactly where we walked off on Sunday October 27th. I can't imagine them using deck 6. It could depend on the tide

Vexorg Posted November 6, 2013 #17 Share Posted November 6, 2013 I don't know about the Royal since I haven't been there yet, but it varies from port to port. If I recall correctly, we embarked on the Crown and Ruby on deck 6 at Port Everglades the last two times I've been there, but at San Pedro and Vancouver embarkation and disembarkation generally seems to be on deck 7. CruisingJs Posted November 6, 2013 #18 Share Posted November 6, 2013 We disembarked on Sunday too and I'm pretty sure it was from deck 5. We had a Princess excursion so our meeting place was the Wheelhouse Bar. I remember having to walk down two decks with the tour group to get off the ship. dmwnc1959 Posted November 6, 2013 #19 Share Posted November 6, 2013 THANKS for the input. Guess I'll have to wait and see once aboard. I too have a post-cruise tour so it will interesting to see if I will be in the same waiting area as CruisingJs.

CruisingJs Posted November 6, 2013 #22 Share Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) We embarked & disembarked from Deck 6. Kristen, is it possible the tide changed so they moved the gangway? We got off at 8:00. What time did you disembark? I'm pretty sure it was deck 5 forward when we got off on Grand Turk but not on the last day. CruisingJs Posted November 6, 2013 #23 Share Posted November 6, 2013 I was talking to my husband about this and he said he looked off the side of the ship from our balcony and they had two gangways out on two different decks. That makes sense with the number of people on the ship.
