Under 200 - How pathetic am I?

Just call me pathetic also. And to answer ckrobyn's question up front: We have promised to take our children on the next cruise (3 children, lots more expense included), also I will be starting a MLS program this fall and will probably plan cruise as a graduation gift to my family for the time missed during the studying process.

Started saving that change, it does add up.

Dan -

None of us are pathetic - just a bit addicted ;)

May I ask what an MLS program is? A family cruise sounds like a wonderful graduation gift! Cruising through a child's eyes changes the whole experience :) We took our 8 year old DD with us this past February and are taking her with us again on the AOS in January.

You're right about saving change - if I saved the $1.20 I spend on coffee on my way to the office every morning ( and waited until I got to the office and had a FREE cup) in a year I would save $312 - not too shabby for just skipping a coffee!

Robyn,

I will be in an Master of Library Science program at IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis.) I also plan to to do media specialist option, includes finishing the Education classes that I didn't finish before, for a teaching license. So I will become a Media Specialist in a K-12 setting (prefer middle school or high school.) Probably a four or five year undertaking, doing it on a part-time basis.

I think that we emailed back and forth a few times just before our first cruise in November. We were sailing on the Radiance also and you were wishing that your cruise was just days away instead of still two months.

When we returned from our first cruise, DW and I, we told the children now 8, 5, 3 that next crusie we go on they would go also. The middle child stills asks about when we will go.

AND YES we are addicted. Just realize the next cruise will not be for awhile. And no I will not be one who complains about the children on summertime cruises or that the prices are higher during this time of year. Will just use a better saving plan to afford it.

Pathetic is when you book your October 2005 cruise on Majesty of the Seas back in July of 2004 and haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since....poor me.

Thanks for the afternoon chuckle ILUVCATS!

Just think - you are almost at the 100 day mark - how cool is that? ;)

We are very addicted too, but we will have to hold off for another cruise for awhile, I am carpeting my whole house, and there goes the cruise budget for next year. Oh well...I will live through other people's cruises until I can plan one again.

I just got a bit giddy when I saw the countdown clock go under 200....

What can I say? I'm a bit addicted

You all knew that anyways ;)

Happy Cruising!

ckrobyn...you are not pathetic at all. Not to long ago I was real excited about being down to 200 days (we booked our cruise about 18 months out). So hitting the 200 day marker was huge for me.

Now I am down to 86 days !!!

I have started working on getting my stuff together for our families cruise and I am pumped that the days are just disappearing a lot faster now for some reason.

Before we know it we will be down to 4 days and make our way to Florida for the cruise.

The 200 days will go quickly for you hopefully !!! HANG IN THERE !!!

Bob:)

Dan: Lots of luck and success to you. It sounds like you will be quite busy but will be saving the best for last!! A family cruise is marvelous for spending quality family time as well as alone time with your spouse/significant other/even yourself.

I am living vicariously through all of you!! If pathetic means I am addicted then so be it!

CKRobyn, it ain't over till the fat lady sings. There still is a chance we might be able to swing a Dec. 2006 cruise. Who said Starbuck's was that important anyway????

I agree with all the sentiments posted here. I don't normally get excited about the 200 day mark, but under 100 days REALLY gets me excited. I'm actually approaching that mark pretty soon. I'm so pathetic that I'm going to Florida for a timeshare vacation for a week in less than 2 weeks and I really am not that excited.

I also agree that when I don't have a clock, I feel...well....inadequte, somehow.:o So, to get over that I just have to book something.

Ckrobyn, really, someone should have warned you about what you were getting yourself into when you took your first cruise. And to the posters who are taking their first very soon, consider yourself warned. You have now acquired a very expensive habit. Might cost more than smoking, but it's much better for your health!

I'm feeling you Bonnie.............Waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

Amanda:(

Amanda,

From your sig it looks like you recently took your first cruise in quite a while. I'm curious. How did your cruise on the Radiance compare to your previous cruises in the '80's?

Well, I'm now 40 years old, and the memory is going...it's hard to remember all the way back to the 80s! The '87 one was our honeymoon...so that was really special. As I recall, the ship only held about 800 pax, but DH and I only had eyes for each other anyway! :) The cabins were very small and ours smelled, I remember. It was right back by the anchor and it made horrible noises. In '88 it was our 1 year anniv. cruise. We thought, "Hey, this is really fun! Let's do this every year!" And then, of course, that was our last one until just this June.:p

I'd have to say there is no comparison, our Radiance cruise far surpassed anything on our Admiral cruises...food, stateroom, entertainment, etc.

I think it's great you have such special memories to look back on and how wonderful you created newer ones.
