Calling All Carnival Players Club Members

I had 3500+ points on my last cruise and have no offers of any kind on their system (I checked online). What's wrong with this picture?

The last casino fare special we had ended on 3/5 and no longer shows up online under offers. (We received a post card mailing some time back).

Don't know how consistant they are with the post card mailings. Do they send them to all players club members at the same time? Dunno. But me and hubby always receive the identical post cards with the exception of the 'casino cash' value being different.

As usual, I read about casino player offers, random free cabin offers...and here I sit still waiting for someone to throw me a bone.....I stay in the casino a lot on our cruises...no I don't bet big money...usually I allow myself $100 daily to play with and sometimes I win a little here and there, but nothing to break Carnival's bank or to get free drinks or strawberries, or whatever....

And yet, while reading not just this thread, but others too, there are people that very rarely even go to the casino and usually won't hardly part with a $20 dollar bill and I read where they received an offer in the mail or on their VIFP offers for a discounted cruise, or even a free cruise....:(

I got over the fact that Carnival doesn't like me enough to give me a free cabin offer:D ( even tho I've only sailed 4 times with them);), but now they will deny me any offers for handing over my money in the casino....What am I chopped liver....:confused:LOL

Can't find a PVP worth a darn....can't get a free cabin....Can't get a discount cruise....Oh woe is me....guess I gotta keep cruising and hoping some great Carnival angel see fit to bless me somehow;).....heck I would just be happy to have one of those FANTASTIC PVP's that everyone is always talking about, because somehow, someway I seem to keep getting the crappy ones!!!!!

The offers may be handed to you at the end of the cruise - the host/hostess hands out letters with discounts/free cabins, etc., depending on points earned. Also, you may start getting postcards in the mail for Premier Casino Cruises - they are discounted, and give a lot of perks like drinks on us card for both in cabin, party, gift, special slot tourny, etc. They usually have 6-8 cruises to chose from every few months. Also, under your VIFP account it may list the premier cruises or any cruise discount you may have earned. You can always contact the Players Club before you cruise - you may have earned some cash for your next cruise also!

I just told my husband about some of the replies to this post and he tells me now that he recieved a letter with a discount offer in the room before we left. He assumed it was just basically an ad and that we would probably get a better deal booking another way. He left the letter in the cabin.

Not a really big deal, we won't be cruising again for awhile but I am shaking my head at him.

Oh, wow! It definitely was not an ad. If they couldn't "find" your dh in the casino the last night, they do leave it in the room. I bet you can call the Player's Club and they will have a record of the letter! Give it a try. Usually you have to book a cruise within 14 days of receiving the letter, and have to sail within 6 months of booking - but it is worth a try when you are ready to book your next cruise.

Aw Boo....well I emailed the players club and they said that I had not accrued sufficient points to get any comps. They said to make sure to check in with the casino host on my next cruise and and start earning more. Let's see what happens~:D

I got the same reply..so i sent an email back asking how we are rated and the answer was only from your last cruise. We did a 7 day followed a week later by a four day. When i asked before we sailed on the four day about comps the answer was that it was to soon to get rated on the 7 day. So now on our upcoming 7 day we only get rated on the four day and the last 7 day does us no good as it does not get rated.

I was one of the lucky ones that got the free cabin offer from the Players Club last month and booked our upcoming cruise. I just assumed it was because of the amount of $$$ I lost in the Magic Casino two years ago. I didn't realize that you accumulated points on the amount you gamble. How do you find out how you are rated for that "Drinks on Us" card. That sure would be nice to receive when we board the Triumph in May :D

I thought the "Drinks on Us" card was for the current cruise if you hit a certain point threshold.

As far as other comps, an email or call to Ocean Players Club has always resulted in me getting something nice - no free cabin or anything, but certainly a basket in the cabin.

This is one thing Carnival does WAY better than RCI. My gambling on Princess and Carnival both count towards their mystery ratings formula.

One note, I booked a casino offer that was really good, but not free. They said I am not entitled to any comps because of the casino rate I got.

The Players Club makes not sense. I was on the Valor in January and my DH, I and my nephew were always on the Black Jack tables. My nephew way more then us. He qualified for the Drinks on Us card by the 2nd day. He was invited to a free dinner at the Steakhouse and received a dozen chocolate covered strawberries in his room. My DH and I, nothing but thats ok, he was in there more.

We are sailing on the Splendor in November. I emailed Michael at the Players Club to let him know and see what our comps would be. The past few cruises we have all received cash. For November, my husband and I will share a fruit basket and my nephew with get $25.

Makes no sense to me at all.

We were told no comps but to check with the casino host once on board to be sure we get any comps that are coming to us..??..Does this mean for comps as we play on this cruise?? Or that they no longer send things prior to your cruise...waiting for you in your cabin......??

On our last cruise in January on the last night I received a letter in our box next to the door after returning from dinner. It was from the players club notifying me of a complimentary cruise on 3-8 day sailings to be used by end of May. We will be fulfilling that cruise in April on the Breeze. Why did I get this letter, I don't know but I have one theory that nobody ever mentions. This will be our 4th cruise in 10 months. We play at the tables every night, on sea days I will play during the day while the wife lays out. We have always done well at the tables, hence our 4th cruise in 10 months. We have a certain amount of cash allotted for the casino and on every cruise we have come back with more than what we allotted. This allows us to pay off our alcohol and other perks we purchase while going on the next cruise with that allotted money set aside for the casino. So to my theory. Be nice and socialize with the staff, especially the pit bosses. On my last cruise I immediately remembered the pit boss from my Dream cruise in July. We talked for 5-10 minutes the first night and chatted every other time I was in casino. I also chatted with the other pit bosses. Sometimes healthy conversations that develop good raaports go along way. Often you see people in casions that are loud, obnoxious, conceded, etc. Do you think the staff wants to see them again? Just my two cents.

I agree! On our last cruise last January we also received a letter giving us a free cruise before May. Any ship for 3-8 day cruise! My husband and I BOTH received the letter!

We have received the FREE drink card for use in the casino on our last 3 cruises. We also have received money comps as well.

We take an allotted amount for gambling with us and we usually do pretty well. We make friends with the dealers and the pit bosses too. In fact on my last cruise I knew the same casino pit boss would be there and I brought him home made cookies! The dealers were fighting over them. On the ship we exchanged email addresses and since have been corresponding with each other. He lives in Romania and I in Virginia!

It never hurts to be nice. The dealers say thank you for treating them like family when they are so far from home!! (They would yell here comes Dad when my husband came to play craps!):D

Not a sermon...just a thought! LOL!

We have a group of 6 going...all family so its trustworthy.

Anyone ever try using one players club card to get your points up high quickly?

Free drinks would be awfully nice :)

Well, there is no such thing as a players club "card." Your room/S&S card is what they use. I don't play slots, but I don't think there is a way to insert the card into more than one machine at a time so that multiple people could play on the same one. Of course, nothing stops you from passing your S&S card around so someone else could play slots on it while you do something else.

On table games, they won't let you play with someone else's S&S card. I have seen them refuse even letting a married couple play on the same card at the same time. I have seen a spouse buy chips and then the spouse play them, but both could not play at the same time. I did see a dealer allow a married couple play the same color chips at the same time, until the pit boss saw it and made them stop.

For slots, yes, the points are tracked automatically on your S&S. Reach the threshold and get your Drinks on Us card. Table games have no automatic points tracker, and the casino host or pit boss will give you a card when the manual tracking they do on you says you deserve a card (or the just think you've earned one)...yep it's not very scientific or precise. I've even had a pit boss just offer a few free drinks before eventually giving me the free card.

People can also get the free card from previous cruise activity. You may have one waiting in your cabin upon boarding. Premier cruise books may include one. You may have to call before the cruise and ask what comps you have for an upcoming cruise, and that may trigger you to have a card waiting in your cabin or allow you to go the casino host and ask for it the first day even before playing.

It's all a big mystery how they do things. I receive Premier Cruise offers and got the recent free cabin offer from the casino, yet don't receive the free drink card until after spending several days in the casino. One cruise I received strawberries one day plus the free card and that was it. The premier cruise I got strawberries everyday, plus bottles of wine on different days and at dinner the final day, and 5 $100 bills on the first day. I sat with the same people every day and played twice the bets, but for the drawing they received almost 3 times the entry tickets as me. Yet, people say they played way more than I know I have, yet received only a token amount of cruise cash. It is just a big mystery.

But, I don't worry about all of that. I play because I enjoy it. I cruise because I like it and the price is worth it. Anything I receive for doing so is just gravy. I don't begrudge whatever anyone else gets. I did call to ask if I had any comps for the upcoming "free cabin" cruise and was told that my comp was the free cabin. I told them "thank you so much, it's a great comp!"

On our last cruise ( 7 night ) I reached the 1500 points on the last evening of the cruise. No chance to get a free drink card or any perks.

Last month I received a casino offer but the Early Saver price was better than the Casino price.

In theory it is a great idea. Unfortunately they know exactly where you are and track you. My mom left money on a machine that didn't automatically go back on her card as she usually pulls it out of the machine too quickly. They tracked her down, had her put her card back into the machine and put the money back on her card.

Good luck on your cruise!

It pays to ask!

My husband and I received dinner at the steakhouse twice on our cruise last summer and once last January as well as two bottles of wine. The waiter told us in the MDR the wine was a casino gift. The next night the casino host gave us a bottle of wine in the casino! She said we were suppose to have it at dinner and they didn't do it!

We always receive the strawberries in our room. Not a big fan but appreciate the gift.

For our upcoming "FREE" cruise (I say that because we upgraded to a balcony so with tips and taxes it is $418 a person) when I called they said no money comps but I earned the free drink card upon embarkation. I had 11,000 points on the slots last cruise.

They do treat their players well. We are by no means high rollers, but do spend a lot of time in the casino. We typically accrue around 5, 000 points each on a 4 day cruise. That said, here is what we usually get: strawberries at least once in the cabin; pastries or chocolates in the cabin; free drinks in the casino on day one; bottle of wine at dinner at least one night; sometimes a photo certificate; some cash to play in the casino($50-$100); host speaks to us daily; discounted cruise certificate at end of the cruise; invitations to special cruises. Granted, the machines are tight and some very old, but we budget our "casino money", and consider it entertainment expense. Any little thing they do for us is appreciated, and not expected.

Amen, amen and amen. It never hurts to be nice. On my last cruise I got to know the pit critters right away. I jokingly said the minute I qualify for free drinks give me the card because my bar tab will be higher than my gambling losses. We were in the casino every time it was opened. We like to drink and gamble.

Speaking of being nice many times in casinos I would kindly tell the pit boss I know I haven't been here long enough to get a decent meal but anything you can do is appreciated. Usually they come back with at least a free buffet or a partial comp to a restaurant. In Biloxi several times I would get a $60.00 food comp just for asking. Yes it never hurts to get to know the pit critters and be friendly.

After reading all the responses I am so curious to see if I will be offered anything on the cruise next week.

If not, not a big deal since I am by no means, a high roller!

On last months cruise a rep called to see if I wanted to upgrade to an Ocean Suite for a few dollars more but I declined because my sister was in the cabin next to me and I knew she's be Pi$$ed off if I did.

At that point, I'd never sailed Carnival, so I really don't know how they go about giving out perks..

I'm leaving Monday and no one has called to see if I want an upgrade this time...

I'll report back if I got anything from the casino!!!!

I can honestly say, since I went on my first Carnival Cruise in June 2013. Since then I have received constant letters and offers for free cabins. I recently booked the Dream for the end of March with balcony cabin upgrade for $70.

This is what happened on my last cruise...

Day 1

I received the "Drinks on Us" card.

Day 2

I received a free bottle of wine at dinner.

Day 4

I received a "sweet treat" (as they called) it in my room.

Day 5

The casino host asked us if we wanted to have dinner at the Italian restaurant for my whole family. We accepted of course, and they included a liter of wine with dinner that evening too.

I know that when I finished my 8-day cruise in June that I had over 16,000 points on my card. Overall I did not "spend" more than $1000 in the casino during that trip, the constant "ups" and "downs" definitely added up.

I'm just curious to see what happens on my next cruise.
