I prefer not to use the plastic sleeve, I like the ones that have the clips so you can unclip the card to hand over as you are exiting the ship, or getting on. Second choice is the free one from the casino that stretches.

GO MIZZOU!!!!!!!

Neither.

I always have pockets, and 90% of the time my wife's card is in my pocket as well.

Same here.

I always take a little canvas bag on deck with us. It has our books, sunscreen, camera, and a pouch for our S&S cards. When DH and I walk around the ship in our bathing suits AND cover-ups, the S&S cards are in the bag. After we've showered and dressed, the cards are in our pockets, or both in his if I'm wearing a skirt without pockets.

I bought one for me with a plastic sleeve. (Beaded like a necklace) I like to carry a little casino cash with me so slip it in the plastic. Only issue is to use it you have to take it out. DH has one that you put thru hole. He is usually the one to open up our room. Lol

I go to the Casino and have them punch it and put it on one of those plastic lanyards.

I usually put it in a very small purse that goes into my walker but on the last cruise our friend came with us. I had done all the work for it including all the reservations for everything. She wanted to thank me so bought me one of the landyards that they sell on the ship. It is sparkly and had a plastic sleeve on it. Trying to put my S & S card in it was horrible. I finally took the plastic off and had a hole punched in it. It is not something I would have bought but it was a nice thought. You have to take it off every time you want to use it so a bit of a pain. Not sure if I will bring it next time.

I wear a cross on a gold chain that my parents gave me for my 1st communion when I was 10 years old. I haven't taken it off since. It signifies a defining moment in my life when some life altering changes were made.

My apologies. I didn't know it was tacky to people like you. I'll make sure that it stays tucked under my shirt at all times.

I know that not everybody that wears a gold chain does it for reasons like mine, but don't be so quick to judge others and label them as tacky.

I wear a gold chain with a scrolled heart on it that my late father gave to my late mother and she never took it off...and now I don't unless medical testing. I wear his gold bracelet also and I couldn't care less how tacky that poster thinks I am...I think it's pretty tacky in voicing an opinion against something that wasn't even asked. So which tackiness out trumps the other? Tacky lanyard, gold chain, or rude comment.

Edited to add: Or person pointing out tacky comment by other poster....lmao

Lol Funny post

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If the poster that does not like lanyards and fanny packs, then so be it. Her opinion. I personally do not care for them either. This is what makes the world go round. If we were all the same, life would be very boring.

I have read many, many times, that foreigners always know the Americans by the very white sneakers/tennis shoes they wear. Never realized this. Yes, I still wear my white sneakers..lol:o

You know I went to Bermuda years ago on vacation and that was one of the first things I noticed, they all wore black leather shoes and it was hot as hades...lol..yep definitely recognized us tourists! But then sneakers would be imports probably mostly from US back then...Foreign as they are/were under UK.

I either have mine in my pocket(if what I'm wearing has a pocket), if not I either make my husband carry it in his pocket, or I tuck it in my bikini top or my bra. But usually I just make my husband put it in his pocket.

Careful, somebody will probably get offended by this pic. A sense of humor seems to be lacking with some folks on here. ;)

You know, I don't know why it is so bad to look like I'm from the U.S. if I want to wear white sneakers and/or a fanny pack. So what? I'm proud to be from the U.S.

There are tourists from other countries that I can pick out easily by what they wear. No one thinks that is bad.

You are going to look like a tourist no matter what you wear.

I think some folks really need to get a sense of humor. I took this a a joke, some folks are just wound way to tight.

Trucker Dave then I think you need to ask that poster as I am pretty sure this wasn't a joke as I've seen it many times on these boards where people are vehement ally opposed to lanyards. But I think you way of thinking is probably better, I mean we ARE talking about a silly, but necessary for me item that no one should (IMHO) really care if someone else uses. You see I don't see it as a fashion accessory but as a utilitarian item. No pockets? Lanyard!

I totally agree with this!! I mean open your mouth and when you speak they are going to know anyway! It was just an observation on my part. LOVE LOVE my sneakers.

Neither.

I always wear small cross body bag - holds S&S, iPod Touch, etc.

Husband keeps his in his pocket.

No one knows what VIFP level we are when we board or stand in line anywhere :p

If I'm just walking around the ship, getting a drink, browsing shops, and I don't need to carry anything else, it goes in my bra if I don't have pockets. I don't care for lanyards for myself.

If it's to go to pool, then it's just in a beach bag with all my other pool essentials. Onshore, in a backpack with other items I may need for the day, usually in a small card wallet.

Lanyard and pouch. I like having my ID and some cash in there.

Also for dinner, never have to worry about pockets in fancy dresses.... It is important to me that all family members have their own S&S in case we ever get separated. We even bought rhinestone ones that worked really well on our last cruise.

I can't stand the feeling of a lanyard around my neck. My boss finally gave up on getting me to wear one at work and actually got me a clip on holder for my work ID.

I carry a small purse because it also holds a camera, chap stick, tissues, and I don't go anywhere without my inhaler.
