Mail and people think it comes from Carnival.

Ours showed no indication of any third party involvement. Paper stock and print type the same as in previous solicitation letters.

Another theory: We've booked the last three with online travel agencies, mainly for on board credit, or chocolate, etc. One goal of Carnival is they might want to drive more traffic to their website. We booked this online in 15 minutes.

We're curious to know what third parties might be involved.

I received mine in mid December via post office. It was a Players Club (casino) offer for a free cabin (not a "free cruise"). It also showed under my VIFP Special Offers.

I got mine in August, and it came by mail directly from Carnival. I called and made my reservations the next day and got upgraded to a balcony.

A friend that I normally room with on some cruises got hers last week. It also came in the mail directly from Carnival. We cruise in May.

Mail we got ours 1 week ago. We each got one. We just sailed Carnival Freedom Christmas and New Years back to back and really don't play much in the casino. Did not look on website to see if we did have free cruise. OH after we came back from our cruise we did book Celebrity for July, that is why when I saw "we want you back" I said how did they know we booked on another line.

February 11th and I saw that other posters here got free cabins; so I thought WTH why not check? I logged in and low and behold NOTHING for my VIFP number. But when I checked DH's...WOOHOO! Happy Birthday to me! (FEB 12 BTW) I called him and said we are going on a cruise! We did get a letter that same afternoon at the house.

My question regarding this, DH's VIFP begins with 07 and he gets all kinds of offers, while mine begins with 09 and I never get anything. One of my co-workers got one and her number begins with 07 too. Anyone else with a free cabin with some number other than the 07?

I received something in the mail a few weeks ago with Carnival's name on it. It wasn't a letter, but rather a bulk rate type of mailing that had to be opened by tearing the perforations on the sides. It looked like a third party mailing with strings attached, so my wife tossed it.:eek:

It couldn't have been a REAL free cruise, I've never won anything in my life. :D

We got ours on February 13th in the US Mail. It was in my DW's name which I thought was a little odd because we've always booked under mine. Our last cruise was in December 2012 so it's not like we had been away from Carnival for a long time.

We are definitely not high rollers. My DW avoids the casino like the plague and I only play $5 Blackjack. We hardly drink at all. We buy a few things in the shops (the most expensive thing we've ever bought is a Citizen watch). We do always book our excursions through Carnival but I doubt that makes much of a difference.

My husband got one and I got one and they came in Dec 2013. We received it in the mail. Ours was from the players club and entitled us to a free inside room. We paid a little extra for a balcony. With taxes etc., the total cost came to $436.80, but we were also given $100 onboard credit, so $336.80 for 8 night Southern Caribbean on the Breeze. I just learned yesterday that since we received an offer each, I can book another cruise. We have only cruised carnival once and we did play a good bit in the casino. So, I'm assuming that's why we got the offer. We have until March 2014 to book the other cruise and have to cruise by Nov 2014.

We got ours snail mail Feb 12-13. It came in DH name and we always book mine name first.

I have read all the posts on here and that does seem to be the most prevelant, that it is coming to the one not doing the booking.

Our VIFP numbers both start with a 7.

We got ours in December via e-mail from Carnival. Called and was given the best available balcony.

Our son got his Feb 13 and it said to book online or to call your preferred travel agent. Don't see how they can be accused of pulling people away from their TA. Son is not using his. Apparently, they can't even get him to go even when it is free.

I got the same thing. It was thru Carnival for Mastercard. It was not for a free cruise.

Got my letter Feb. 10th in the mail & then when I went to see which cruises were available, the same free cabin offer was listed under vifp special offers.

My VIFP # begins with a 6 & we just cruised this past August. Also, I am the one who always books the cruise & we do not gamble in the casino at all.

My mom got one. snail mail. Feb 11 i would say.

white envelope and same type of inside as pictured over the boards.

Most of my family has sailed carnival, no one else got it.

Mom and i leave May 10 for 8 nights. apx 116 tax port charges, 49 insurance, (yes i got scared into it) and we did upgrade to bal for 80. pp

total cost apx 496.

BEST part, i had a cert for 100. and i got 200 ship board credit by using that, also im a stock holder so another 100 ship board credit for me.

My actual cost 146 ish with 300.00 ship board credit. YEAH i suck. PS mom spends a lot in the casino/none of the other family members spend about anything. LOL

We received ours in the mail, snail mail on about February 11th as well.

Here is a pic of our letter.

Excuse the scribbling. I was taking notes while talking to Carnival about prices of various cruises and my wife was trying to teach my 7 year old how to sign his Valentines Cards.

Wife got hers through snail mail around February 11. Called that night and booked a 7 night from Miami in June. Upgraded to ocean view for free. Could've paid about 200 more for balcony.

Been on two cruises. 2010 and 2012.

Didn't plan on cruising this year, but couldn't turn it down.

Offer was directly from carnival. Sales rep simply said carnival was trying to fill cabins.

Mine starts with 70 maybe its "Lucky 7's" .. this is an offer from Carnival. I do not visit the casino or have a high Sign & Sail bill. I'm Platinum.. Got mine in the mail about 2 weeks ago.. had to book by March 3,2014 for Spring and Summer offers...and thought "No Way" can i book another one since i sailed Nov,Jan and have another one booked in May! Weeelllll....it only showed sailings from Miami on my offers and that would not work, looked again today and found page after page of offers! Woo Hoo..sailing from Charleston on the Fantasy for June an easy 3 hour drive for $228 total.. upgraded to Oceanview for $25pp plus tax. Another option was Jacksonville a 4 hr. drive. So if you didn't get this offer in the Mail still check your VIPF Offers on Carnival.com.;)

Mine starts with 6. I do spend enough in the casino, $1000 budget for gambling, that I don't exceed. I have had a $6000 S&S balance. I have sailed with Carnival 5 times before, most recently in November, 2013. We are Gold level. I do fill out the email surveys they send every time, and have never been critical on them. I never have gone to an upcharge restaurant. I have bought Carnival excursions, but only on our first cruise back in 2006. My offer looks like the other letters that have been posted, but mine says it was from Carnival Players Club.

When some PVPs say it is a casino offer and some say it is random, maybe it is because it is different marketing efforts at the same time with a similar offer? Maybe it is all the same offer that Carnival (needing to fill up some underbooked ships) floated to different divisions and asked them to offer up some people to receive it? Maybe we should DEMAND Carnival give us answers for all the chaos and tears (happy and sad) they are causing some people? Do you HEAR us, Carnival???
