Regarding the loud music ,we had it blaring from the Atrium all the way up the elevator shafts . It is more than annoying :mad:.

 

We are Elite + & if Celebrity doesn't want us ,then we can accommodate them & sail on Holland or Cunard or even Princess (as long as they don't follow suit) ;).

 

We all have choices & I see changes in Celebrity that are rubbing me the wrong ways .Greed is one of their major changes:eek:

Other than the volume of the music and, as you say, their greed, what else is rubbing you the wrong way that is making you reconsider sailing with Celebrity?

We go way back with Celebrity . I voiced my opinion about pushing booze in the 123 Go package ;which is not free & increse in cruise pricing by X . It also promotes too much drinking & on a cruise ship ,that has lead to several fatalities of going over board .Who is to say that a person has had too much . Some drunks are fun & others are nasty when loaded.

 

On b2b Eastern & Western Caribbean 3/2 & 3.9.14 the Casino opted to up the black jack bets from $5 to $10 minimum ,$15 & $25

 

The Aqua Café once served cooked Ahi tuna steaks & that was cut out .

Not me either (well, I was in sales and marketing, but it was music, not Celebrity), but I think that there are some well planted competitors complaining on here to make Celebrity look bad.

If you go back on Cruise Critic news you will see the problems .BTW when that does happen & the ship pulls into a American port ,the FBI comes aboard for a full investigation & unless satisfied the ships stays until they are satisfied.

FWIW, Celebrity has had 1 person go overboard since 2012 and that was a crew member.

No what I posted above is the truth & can be verified with Celebrity ;).

 

I have been retired 15 years & ran my own business both from a business plan & a marketing plan .Thus ,I see it the way X is currently running both plans.

 

FWIW a huge difference between RCCL & Celebrity ships vs Princess & Holland is that RCL corporation restricts TAs from discounting their cruises ;however a TA can & do discount Princess & Holland America cruises:eek:

Since you voiced things that were rubbing you the wrong way on Celebrity and causing you to reconsider sailing with Celebrity, why would you care if it happened on other cruise lines. I would look at it, that Celebrity must be doing something right, since they haven't had anyone fall overboard because of booze since the 123 promotion.

Think about it. We know that the cruise lines read the boards. This must be the best free form of entertainment for them. Bet they have to love all this over the top drama. :) Great way to make the day go faster.

I also cruise on 2 other lines and both of their internets on the ships are just as slow and just as expensive.

Wow...all of this is happening on Celebrity ships and I haven't even noticed. I will definitely pay more attention on my next cruise! I could care less about the drink package...I would rather some of these people be on board and not on the road...It always amazes me how I learn from those younger and older than me! If you don't like the ship, you don't have to sail!:eek: I am one of those fighters...age is only a state of mind!

Yea, those greedy corporate executives. Just returned from a Reflection cruise where I paid about the same amount for a balcony as I did for a cabin with a porthole 20 years ago. And they even had to gall to include the beverage package and $150 OBC. Damn them. I for one am happy I can cruise at such reasonable rates and choose to pay for extras IF I WISH too.

Sad to say but it seems the Carnivalization process is speeding up!

 

In recent weeks the Grand Brunch has been discontinued, to be replaced by apparently a cotton candy machine in the regular buffet, and the activities staff has been cut from 6 to 2. At the same time, I have not heard of any modern luxury enhancements or exciting innovations.

From a sound engineers perspective - "loud is beautiful if its clean"

 

Loud is generally mistaken for distortion, which is the thing that damages hearing and gives discomfort. A good quality sound system, particularily the speakers, set up correctly, would allow a person to hear what another is saying clearly. Loud does not have to be a conversation killer.
