jules57 Posted March 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Am I the only one who doesn't like the house "champagne"? As far as I am aware the only venue you can buy a decent glass of champagne is Murano etc.

It use to be a Perrier Jouet, but maybe it's been downgraded since.

curtdesilets Posted March 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2014 I think it's been downgraded. The free bottle they give you is a no name brand. Used to be good though.
curtdesilets Posted March 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Used to be right next to the Martini bar. A bar specializing in only champagne. Maybe it's gone the way of the dodo??

WestLakeGirl Posted March 15, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 15, 2014 The M Class ships had an area called the Champagne Bar, but when they were remodeled, the bar was removed to make way for other venues
CHEZMARYLOU Posted March 15, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 15, 2014 I think Cellar Masters has champagne by the glass. Mary Lou
Project_gal Posted March 15, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Am I the only one who doesn't like the house "champagne"? As far as I am aware the only venue you can buy a decent glass of champagne is Murano etc. You can purchase the real stuff in other places. Certainly on our last cruise on Constellation there was a good choice in Cellar Masters. Most bars will collect any drinks that they do not hold from another location if you ask [although I guess that you would not be popular for expecting that at the Martini Bar when they are really busy!]. Our experience on Celebrity has always been that they will do their best to serve you with anything provided it is on board - unlike NCL where they actually refused to serve me Champagne at the Champagne Bar because they did not have a bottle already open! puppyluv1 Posted March 15, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 15, 2014 We like to bring a good bottle of champagne as one of our two bottles you can bring on board. We really enjoy a glass with a light snack on our balcony in the afternoon.
wpgcycler Posted March 15, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 15, 2014 While not Champagne, I find the Domaine Chandon Brut to be rather serviceable - certainly better than the house pour and available at nearly all if not all bars.

chicagopaul Posted March 15, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2014 MDR has some nice options, including some nice prosecco options. In Tuscan they were out of a nice prosecco by the glass so our wine steward brought a wonderful bottle over on the house. They've definitely downgraded the champagne in CC and Suites. It is now a cheap sparkling wine that I definitely do not care for, but hey its free so we can't complain. Next time we board, however, we will definitely bring a nice bottle with us to enjoy on the balcony.
