Risa leaving Carnival

Well, folks, Risa Barnes is leaving the Fantasy ship as CD.. in fact,is leaving Carnival. Good luck Risa, in your new land life!!:(:(

So where is she going and what is she pursuing in the future?

As I understand, she is the Executive Director of the Chapin,SC, Chamber of Commerce. In my opinion, she is a very nice person,and was a good CD.

Just wonder who will be taking her place.

Noooooo! She's the only CD I've ever liked. :(

 

Blah and boring? Yeah, I'll take that a million times over the loud, obnoxious, intrusive, in-your-face, think-they're-so-funny-when-they-aren't CDs. :mad:

 

I wish her all the best. Next time I sail Fantasy, I'll try to track her down and say Hello!

I don't think Risa has been on the Fantasy lately. We had Shorty Blandford in early March, and based on what I have seen on CC she has been for several months.

I always liked Risa too. Not my favorite, but FAR from the bottom of the list IMO. I know she'll do well, in whatever she does. She'll be missed on the ships. :(

She was the CD on my first ever cruise on the Inspiration.....when my addiction began!

Best of luck to Risa and she will be missed. I always found her to be pleasant and approachable when I cruised with her. Chapin is luck to find someone that can manage well and be professional in her responsibilities.

Funny, I don't remember the names of cruise directors unless they are really bad. If I don't remember the cruise director's name, it is a good thing - means I enjoyed my cruise and they were fun but not intrusive.

We've cruised with Risa several times including three of our first four cruises. Started with her on Celebration out of JaxPort.

 

I'm not big on CD's, but Risa was entertaining and did the job well. Kudo's and best wishes to her in her new endeavors.

This is the saddest post i think ive read here lol. Risa is my favorite favorite cruise director. She has such a good heart. You can tell she is a. Southern.the fantasy will not be the same without her. She has been with carnival since 1996 i think. So a very long tenure for the cruise industry. Best of luck Risa!

Glad she is gone. Now I will sail out of Charleston more. She is the reason I don't.
