That is one impressive crab!

 

I have to agree about the risotto in La Veranda. I thought it was just me, but I just didn't think it was that good. CR's version was better. But maybe thinking it was not that good is better for me, since I just didn't eat as much of it. Proper risotto should be creamy and have a bit of "bite" to it. La Veranda's just didn't do that.

Reindeer and keeper (a "Sami"). These are the reindeer that swim back to the mainland at the end of summer. They belong to the Sami people and are allowed to run free. Both female and male reindeer get antlers but shed them different times of the year.

This is the midnight sun at 11:00 p.m. (okay - so it isn't really the midnight sun - it's the 11:00 p.m. sun). It isn't getting dark but is getting very cloudy. If you look at the top of the picture you'll see blue sky. People going to this spot the following day could see nothing but clouds. We were fortunate!

 

 

No clue why this came out small. My DH has an outstanding photo of the midnight sun on his camera. I didn't realize that you could aim the camera directly towards the light and get a great picture.

Wow, great pictures. We won't even look at our pix until we're past our jet lag. After two nights at home, we haven't made it to as late as 8:30, so we still haven't seen a night sky since July 5th, the night before we flew to Oslo. We did see a sunset on our last night, but the sky was still pretty light (twilight) when we went to bed.

Loving those photos, the crab, THE CRAB! WOW! That's a beauty. Have to agree with all of your comments, right on the money. Maybe we were lucky, but most of our buses were not full to the brim. I think we were also very fortunate that we traveled with a really punctual and considerate crowd. When it was time to go, we went....no waiting for stragglers. Also didn't encounter any front seat mauraders!

As I always do on a cruise, I updated the bar list. There will be several changes to this list in the next few weeks which I'll post after our October cruise. A few notable changes on this list is the removal of Samuel Adams and Miller Genuine Draft beer as well as Becks alcohol free. Several more beers will be on the new list.
