Tables for two on Crown Princess

Does anyone know if there is a seating plan for the Crown dining rooms that I could look at? I am trying to find out if there are tables for two that are not simply lined up next to other tables for 2 so that you are actually sitting almost with someone else.

My husband is not a fan of sitting with others, and we are trying to decide if we should bring clothes for the dining room or just plan to do the buffet, grill, eat in port, etc.

We are signed up for Anytime Dining if that makes any difference. Thanks!

Other then the line of tables next to each other they would have to set up a 4 top table for 2. Just ask the head waiter at the door.

You also the option to speak with the MD on embarkation day.

We were on the Crown from July 5th through July 12th. My husband also insists on tables for 2. The vast majority of the tables for 2 are the ones with the couch on one side. I saw just a very few tables for 2 scattered throughout the dining room. We grew accustomed to the table with the couch seating. Sometimes we talked with the couples near us & sometimes we didn't, depending on how friendly they were. We didn't feel obligated to converse as we would have at a shared table.

Lots of tables for 2

Head waiters have been very good trying to accommodate people's requests

I have been on the Crown since July 5 (4b2b) & service has been excellent.

The only issue was on July 26 - no air con for the cabins in the front part of the ship from 7:30 am to midnight due to generator breakdown

Not been on the Crown but on the Ruby we went to see the Maitre'd on the first afternoon & asked for a table for two. He said they only had the "bench" seats but allocated us one for that night which wasn't too close to those either side. We found it quite acceptable & after two nights booked it for the rest of the cruise. It was treated as a table for two & not a table of 12 as we've experience before. We spoke to the couple to our left who had also booked the table but, not to the various couples who occupied the other table as they obviously wanted to keep to their own company which we respected. We've been the same & don't always wish to socialise during our evening meal, being quite happy to at other times. I wish there were more "proper" tables for two as so many people seem to prefer them.

I'm going to answer this differently. On most Princess cruises I have been on, more passengers wish to dine early than late. Those that dine late can pretty much walk in and get the seating they want. Many times I have seen two people sitting at a table for four. But, if you want to dine early it is more difficult to get a 4 top allocated just for two. In the west coast market I would expect this pattern to be the same, but you never really know until you are actually on board.

We generally do Anytime Dining, and specifying a table for two is no problem. The Maitre'd usually asks if we will share, but it's no big deal to say No. They adapt.

Wouldn't it be nice if once the Maitre d' recognizes you that they wouldn't ask if it is okay to share? We did a 20 day b2b and it was the same every night. It is no big to deal to say no but do they have ask regardless?

I find it awkward getting out from the bench seat, worried I'll knock over some one's glass of wine or have my rear in their face. We did have one of our glasses knocked over once when a person exited the table next to us and it was immediately replaced. Cheers.

We did anytime dining on the Crown last year and always had a table for 2 and NOT the bench type. We ate fairly early and had a 4 table to ourselves, as we liked the wait staff we were able to sit in the same section each evening we just spoke to the maître d as we left and it was fine. Enjoy your cruise :)

Federico was most accommodating. We had a window seat ( round table).I do not know if it made a difference that we were on 4 consecutive sailings.

We had 4 different booking #. He dropped by each week to see if service was to our satisfaction.

We've actually found it to be the case that they do remember. Our last cruise was a 10 day and they had it down by day 3. Keep in mind that we were there nearly the same time each night.

*chuckle* Then we threw them off by bringing additional guests to dine with us!

Do you remember the table number?

I don't sorry, but it was all the way to the left in the corner when you walk in...next to the windows...there were a few separated tables for two there...
