Is it safe to take a cab from MIA to IC in Miami

I have heard that taking public transportation in some areas of Miami at night isn't safe. Would taking a cab from the airport to the IC hotel be safe? Our flight doesn't get in until 10:30pm.

I think reservations about taking public transportation would relate to the Metromover or something like that.

Had no problem getting to the IC after a flight that landed after midnight.

It would be very safe to take the taxi.

 

The area of Miami that IC is located is really very safe.

 

I have been coming to this area (we stay at a different hotel) since 2007 and every year it gets better.

 

And for the taxi you will be absolutely fine. You will be dropped right at the hotel No worries.

the issue with some other forms of public transportation revolves around walking down the street with luggage to get from A to B

 

I wouldn't do that in ANY large city

 

You'd be ASKING for trouble in ANY city ... and some are worse than others. Wanna guess where I'd place Miami?

 

If you are two - take a taxi

 

If you are ONE - take a shared ride AKA shuttle. (strength in numbers and a shuttle for ONE is usually cheaper ... for TWO this changes)

Sorry to disagree but whether you are one or two at that hour of the night just take a taxi. It's late so a taxi will get you there the quickest.
