On our last two cruises on the Dawn we stayed in a 2 BR, 2 Bath suite, the first time cause we were cruising with my dad (parkinsons and mild dementia) and we wanted the extra space....this past May we booked the same exact suite and the adjoining mini cause we were cruising with 5 young adults (17-20)....So we booked again for this coming October (2 cruises in one year )....Because its just 2 of us this time, I booked a mini gty (which turned out to be two cabins away from "our" suite, I just couldnt see putting out all that cash for a suite for the two of us....the closer we get to the cruise I was starting to 2nd guess myself because we were going to miss out on Cagneys breakfast and lunch...Then I saw this thread and  I am thrilled!! Hopefully it will still be offered on the Dawn in October!!

Good luck. Let us know how it works out. Not sure if mini-suites can use the pre-concierge, but if so, why not give them a call and see if you can purchase it prior to boarding.

Thanks cause I really don't care if I have to wait outside cagneys for 10mins I'm on vacation so many people here need to get over there own self importance

But I have to say it's been fun reading the threads and eating popcorn

 LOL....On the cruises that we could enjoy Cagneys, we never had to wait, the dining room was never more than half full....

For once I am speechless lol. I can't even wrap my mind around someone gambling away 80k much less loosing hundreds of thousands that sounds like a person has an addiction problem or heck of a lot more recreational spending money than I do lol. I had no idea people spend that kind of money in the casino but if that's the case then the CAS people should be even more upset than the suite ppl as they certainly have contributed a lot more to the coffers then I do.

Or maybe they are a millionaire their thousands equal our five and dimes. If you have it do what you wish with it.

Maybe you missed the irony

The lol at the end should have give it away but maybe not

Thats funny ... The one side of the argument even attacks its own ..

Thats what happens when people get so bent , everything looks like a bullseye.. ;)

I caught the irony and thought it pretty funny..

That reads so damn condescending and snobbish - some of you really need to just travel on luxury line away from the normal people. Or eat some humble pie and walk mile in someone else for a change. Just pathetic, crying over things that really does affect you at all, like its going to destroy your perfect vacation or something......

Maybe I read it differently than you did but I thought the poster was trying to lighten the mood and make a joke. That's how I took it and why I laughed it was silly. I don't think the poster had any intention of doing it rather trying to get others (myself included) to see that this really is getting overblown. I thought it was funny and am not going to worry about the package anymore his comment showed me how silly this has become. Honestly I'm very thankful I'm in the position to be worried about suite perks when there are people out there that don't even have homes.

i'd say you'd need about 40mm dollars networth to blow 80k$ casually if it wasn't a say a gambling problem.

if you made 1mm$ / year

means you'll have about 700k left over after federal taxes.

blowing 11% of your yearly income is no joke.

probably need to make about 10mm$ a year to casaully go through 80k$

if you're mkaing 10mm/year, you're probably not sailing ncl.

I just called and I was told it cant be purchased before the cruise....My PCC suggested that we board early and purchase the package asap since there are only 40 packages offered to mini-suite and balcony guests. (we were planning on boarding early anyways....we live 1/2 hour from the cruiseport)...

Thanks for the info, I didnt know about this until today!! :)

Im very curious to see how quickly they go .. If you do purchase the package , would you mind stopping back at the service counter on day 2/3 to see if they are all gone.... Or not , its vaca time ;)

I guess my nerves are alot more frayed than thought - ever dealt with financial geniuses that makes big bucks but can't pay for their own Starbucks coffee run? I can write volumes about it especially today's Derek Jeter game - I not Moses, the heck am suppose to stop the rain from ruining your viewing of it at damn stadium dumb mother.......

So I do apologize for taking it the wrong way. It not the 1st time I've hear, read or experience someone actually buying tickets or items to prevent other people from enjoy. Matter of fact, one of those incidents is happening right now and its turning into the only nasty HR disaster for the company. (The only good thing about it at least wasn't at NYC office)

Holy moly you and me are on the same page lol. Atta girl

I know! You said something earlier that I actually agreed with. I pinched myself to be sure I was awake, then tried to quote you to cheer you on. Unfortunately the quote thing messed up, and I gave up. Now I'm not going to scour all these posts to find it again. LOL! :p

Will this mean the end of allowing family members booked in an adjoining cabin etc to board with suite pax, because these people will likely run to snatch this perk up...it makes sense...and there will be few of these left?

I realize family does not always get to join their suite traveling relatives and board early but I bet this is going to be requested waaaay more now, and while it has been allowed at times in the past, I do have to wonder if that will continue to be the case?

I called my PCC to see if I could purchase this before my cruise in October and I was told no, just onboard. As of now it wont effect the boarding process.

Cruising just isn't what it used to be , maybe all these little changes over time are the burr under the saddle...

Think about it . NCL buys two upscale lines and next begins to turn NCL proper into Kmart... The new business plan , Blue light Specials. Plus.... . ;)

Agreed!!!! Nothing at all to do with "suites" either! It's been heading that way for a while now, unfortunately :(

WOW !!! That sure is a lot of WOW's for one thread . :p

Believe me , cruising has changed significantly over the years .

Some for the better but mostly for the worse.. Its becoming more generic with every passing year..

It all started when they first removed the stairwell gates separating the steerage from the rest of us ... WOW weee

and again, I agree!! I just can't understand what they were thinking ... and wish they'd put it back the way it was. Who was it hurting??

We are currently at over 9 posts in this thread per pass that will be sold. :p

Do you think the people buying these passes are complete imbeciles with no social graces simply because they aren't sailing in a suite? "How could they possible have heard of tipping?! These are lowly humans!!" Give me a big break.

And for the record, those servers ARE covered by the DSC, so your belittling point is moot.

I just read the post you quoted - holy cow!! I can't stand people like that.

Newsflash! Room service for all meals has been offered to all cabins since forever. Simply adding different food items is not going to make it any more or less clumsy.

I never really understood the fascination with eating in one's room. Well, unless it's late, after a night of drinking ... then it's a must :D

I find your logic and level headed-ness astonishingly on point.

I do admit though it is fun seeing people who are so passionate about either point of view. Makes for fun sailing passengers.

But for peace and solitude, four seasons resort at koh samui. <sigggh>

Why thank you :) and yes, four seasons came to mind when I wrote that ;)

Who all is traveling with you? Six people will fit very comfortably in an SJ suite. yes, the only down side is having one bathroom, but the suite itself is SOOO worth it!

Me and my wife along with our 4 teenage sons. She won't go for the whole 1 bathroom thing. :(

Plus we would have to bring in 3 rollaway beds. Not sure where they would all go. I wish it had a connecting cabin.
