Freeport has a few 'straw market' type shops at the port.

In Nassau, Bay Street and the Straw Market are good for shopping and close to the port. There is a Señor Frogs just past the Straw Market and a little further down is Junkanoo Beach.

I highly recommend doing the Key West Pub Crawl! A guide brings a group of people to five different bars in Key West. You get some history along the way, a free drink in each of the 5 bars you visit, a free t-shirt, a conch blowing contest and always meet a lot of FUN people! It's only $40 and well worth it. It's rated very high on Carnival and trip advisor if you'd like to look it up.

Senor Frogs is fun but definitely not easy on the wallet if they're trying to keep it cheap.

Junkanoo Beach in Nassau is a free public beach, and a relatively short walk from the pier. Different bars on the beach will advertise 3 shots of bahama mamas and 3 kalik beers for around $10. Beach chair rental is around $10 and an umbrella is $10 as well.

In Freeport, you need to take a taxi to get to any points of interest. Junkanoo Beach Club is probably the lowest price beach access. It is $10 per person round trip for a taxi, and entrance is $5.

If you don't mind doing some walking Key West is definitely a walkable place to see the sights. Not a bad walk down to the southern most point. On the way you will pass by Hemingway's house and then walk back up Duval street to see the famous bars to the port.

Nassau has ton of shops and restaurants near the port.

Enjoy the boat at Freeport.

We've walked all around key west and rented bikes once too which was great. We walked to the southernmost point, St. Mary'a church, toured Hemingway house, truman house, shopped along Duval and ate at Sloppy Joe's. Also had key lime pie at Blond Giraffe. On visits to Nassau we've done Atlantis, Ardastra Zoo, a walking tour of the city and had conch fritters at Goldies. Haven't made it to Freeport yet.

Don't stay on the ship in Freeport! Try something fun. The Beach Break excursion is $35, and we had a great time there in July.

In Nassau, take a walk to the Queen's staircase (very pretty) and fort. For $1, you can climb the stairs to the top of the fort. You will have a great view of the island and all of the ships that are docked for the day. Tired and thirsty? Stop by Senor Frogs on your way back to the ship.

Key West is a great port just to walk around. Great bars and architecture (charming homes on shady streets).

Three fun ports! Have a great time!

I'm going to take the beach break excursion in December. Do you know the place they go is owned by Carnival or some resort? Thanks!

edit: another question: is there para-sailing there?
