How do you pay for your casino expenses

I was just looking around in the casino area for info like this.I can get 10% off as well with our citi card and was wondering if they give you a hard time gambling with the e cards ?

 

We already bought 10 x $100 ecards for $900 and I was going to buy another 10 today, its like having another $200 total in OBC to spend

 

Has anyone done this and can confirm no problems using in the casino ?

I pack it all into an old heavy-duty laptop chassis. Invisible to metal detectors, still boots up, reasonable to carry, too big to forget, holds about 10k, and so ugly that nobody would bother stealing it.

If you happen to be on RCCL, and our emerald or higher, you get a free upgrade to M Life gold. Once you are an M Life gold member, you get fee free cash against your credit card on file for up to $10,000 per day. I use a CC that gives me 3% cash back for travel, so if I were to take $10,000 per day out in cash, I get a 3% kick back, and no fee, so I could in theory make $300 per day, but then I would have $70,000 in cash when I walk off the boat, and customs probably doesn't like that.

 

So in reality, I get around $3 in free money each day.

DH and I will visit the casino every day, so we have a daily set limit. I place each day's limit in an envelope and label it with the day to use, then all the envelopes go into the safe when we get to the room. We take only the day's money out and gamble with that; whatever is left over at the end of the day goes into the "Pay the Bill" envelope, also in the safe. Toward the end of the week, we take the "Pay the Bill" envelope and apply all the funds inside to our onboard account.

 

If for some reason we skip a day in the casino, the entire contents of that envelope goes into "Pay the Bill".

 

So far, on all our cruises, we've always had at least enough to pay off the entire on board bill and often take extra home. Lucky? Maybe so, but we also like to think its because we just don't gamble more than our daily amount, so some days we win and some we may not, but in the end, we usually end up even.

How do you purchase these using your citi card? I would like to do that too!

I bring plenty of cash and keep what I'm not using in the room safe. Never had an issue and avoid all fees.

You need to have a certain citi card that does points and you can redeem points .For example for a $100 dollar card its 10 points plus $90 so basically 10% off

Traveler's Checks through AAA. They are free, compact, insured, and cashable in the casino. You can get $500 denominations. I have found this is the easiest way to go.

Hopefully the cash I bring will get me through 14 days. If I have to charge my sail and sign, hopefully it won't be very often ;)

Gr8 plan...I have done this exactly already for our upcoming trip...I also made envelopes for our excursions (I pay a % down and rest cash on arrival) and our slot pulls that we have scheduled.

I do the opposite of everyone it seems lol I take very little (gambling) cash and withdraw from my room account for casino expenses. I let the expense hit my NCL or Royal Caribbean credit card (NCL currently awarding triple points), but pay the bill in total when it comes in. I cash in the points for OBC for the next cruise.
