lele100 Posted November 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2014 I have been on 18 Carnival cruises and not once did it rain on the day we sail away and have the sail away party on the Lido Deck. My question is what happens if it is raining and thunderstorms that day, do they move the party inside do they cancel it completely and do something else??? We are leaving Saturday and it is calling for 80% chance of rain with thunderstorms :( so upset

Baymax Posted November 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Lately doesnt really seem like they have much of a sailaway party in good weather They have a DJ who only plays the most brilliant music. OP, they may postpone it to the first port of call depending on the Cruise Director.

tigereye Posted November 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2014 I don't call a DJ and that same group of ...people line dancing much of a party. They had sail away parties years ago, but haven't seen one in quite some time.

mrneil001 Posted November 20, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 20, 2014 My favorite place during any sail away during any port is the spa on the aft. Such a great way to sail away. Love watching people's reaction when the horn blows.

But being it was after 10pm, it was all so anticlimactic, as well as funny. No one saw it coming, so it was a massive sprint.
Chief93 Posted November 21, 2014 #15 Share Posted November 21, 2014 We also had rain at sailaway in Puerto Rico. Everyone had a good time dancing in the rain until it began to pour and they moved it inside, but I dont remember where.
