Free cabib promotion

We have just received a free inside cabin promotion from Holland America.

Has anyone ever used one of these, is there anything we should be aware of,

Holland says there isn't, just curious.

Never heard of this before. Did you call Holland America and verify this offer was from them and not a scam?

I called Holland America...came on there normal letter head.. I think it is legit...just a few dates in the caribbean Feb/March...comes from the "Casino Host , that should tell you something.

We have taken one cruise with them, I guess the promotion is too bring people like us back to the line, cabin is inside with upgrades available.

Just looking on the website some of the 7 day caribbean are going for $199

on short notice, I have noticed all of the lines give deals like that to Florida residents, too many ships down there.

We are long time Celebrity cruisers, but there pricing is getting a little much for us.

I will find out more when I call for a booking this weekend.

It sounds like promotions at Atlantic City/Las Vegas hotels to get gamblers into their casinos. Were you a frequent gambler on your HAL cruise?

I've heard about this a couple of times on the boards in the last month or so. One poster got a neptune suite for something like $549 and got a $500 OBC if I remember the facts correctly.

I had my facts wrong. It was $450 for the neptune with $250 OBC.

About that inside cabin, for anyone to give a valid evaluation they would need to know which ship (or at least which class of ships), and which cabin category.

I'm a (very) experienced cave dweller, who knows there is a wide variation in the sizes of those cabins. On some ships, even the same category has a huge difference, depending on location.

We were on the Eurodam 11/30, and met a lady who also got a free cruise. She got a letter for a free inside cabin on specific dates. She also was a gambler and used the casino. Seems like there's a connection between these free cruises and the casino!!!

I just got off the Westerdam last week. I had received the same letter from Club 21 and it is legit. I even received a pier side upgrade to a balcony

I know that NCL has a deal with Caesars and often gives away free cruises, so I bet this is the same type of thing. Sounds legit to me.

I wish HAL would consider giving a cruise option like this to those who spend monies on all the lovely Amenties such as wine pkgs., suite amenties pkgs., wine tasting pkgs, cellar master dinner, L'Cirque, speciality dinners and wine or liquor set ups in your cabin. These are entertainment items as well that bring monies to HAL. If you spend a certain amount of monies in casino or on the cruise why do the casino passengers benefit only.

I do not go into the casino...too spokey for me....so I may be not understanding the logic.

Logic is easy to understand - gamblers tend to drop alot of money in the casino. Only the big players get these offers, so they really end up paying for them if you will.

 

Seems fair to me - and I never get a casino offer.
