to color or not to color....

Hi hon,

I lost all my hair during chemo too and it grew back curly and in grey patches. The advice was do not color the "new hair" as it might turn orange. It simply isn't able to hold the color as regular hair would. I've made peace with my hair... I'm so happy to have it! I had to swipe it out of my eye the other day, and I almost cried! LOL

God bless.

Thanks. I know it can hold the dye because I colored it in June for the last cruise. But I'm going to be on the inhibitor for a long time and it makes the hair white. I have white eyebrows and eyelashes too. :) is been about 1.5 years now since the chemo. The hair I do have takes forever to grow in because I have permanent damage to my bone marrow from the intense chemo drugs they used and I can't make hemoglobin properly now. My body puts the hair on low priority. It's the only reason I hesitate to cut it off. :) what you see on me now is 1 years worth of growth.

I would get the pixie cut, and then have a heavy white streaking done over most of the head. This will blend the colors and help with the transition as it grows out. It will end up looking like a lot of sunstreaking throughout all the hair.

Just an update. I decided to go get that pixie cut done. Very happy with how it all turned out.

Thanks, it really is so much easier to maintain. Especially since I do spend a lot of time laying down and resting.

We went out tonight and I got so many compliments on the haircut and color (everyone really thinks the white is intentional!)

Pretty. :) Your husband looks so proud to have you on his arm. Actually, I know he is - you're alive. My husband says the same thing. :) xx

Thank you, he definitely would say that. You're husband has it right.
