shanley Posted January 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I made my final payment this week. I tried to do it online, but I kept getting an error, so I ended up doing it over the phone. I was surprised that I never received an email reminder or phone call telling me my final payment was due. This is the first time I have cruised with RCCL. But I know with NCL, I got a phone call and with DCL we dealt with a TA. I don't remember if Carnival called or email, but I am sure I received a reminder of the final payment. So if you happen to forget, like if your final payment falls between Christmas and New Year and it's a crazy week - what happens? Just surprised by the lack of a reminder. Also, if I tried to make my payment after business hours, it is possible it would not have gone through at all.
Clarea Posted January 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2015 It's possible that your booking could be cancelled if you don't pay it off by final payment date.
Janet524 Posted January 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I would call back and ask them to e-mail you an updated copy of your booking confirmation. This should show a zero balance due. IMO it's always a good idea to have all your documentation in hand.
RCI Cruisers 004 Posted January 3, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2015 Check your reservation under "make a payment" and your balance should be zero ! If its not, call them. I usually wait to the last minute to pay for our cruise and I usually don't get an Email from them till just a couple days before its due.
CABCruiser Posted January 3, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I know what you're saying. I never received any reminder notice that final payment was due. We had it marked on the calendar, so we paid it over the phone on time. The agent made sure we had the email confirmation of paid in full before he hung up. But, a reminder would have seemed appropriate. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
HiCSailor Posted January 3, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2015 It's only money and Royal knows you're good for it... [emoji383] After all, they cruise for the love of the game -- they don't cruise to make money, they make money to cruise! [emoji81]
Desert Cruizers Posted January 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2015 I have a copy of our booking with the final date on it, and have never received a notice from the cruise lines we have sailed, that final is due, but I set a date within 1 month of final so make sure I make the payment. cb at sea Posted January 3, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2015 RCI doesn't usually "remind" you....I guess they assume you're excited enough to remember and write it on your calendar! But...after we've made our final payment, we too get notices that we owe more....RCI sucks at the tech stuff!
