Can anyone give me information on how B2B cruising is handled on NCL? Will we need to disembark from the first cruise and go through embarkation again?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

We did a back to back cruise on the Pearl a few years ago. We had the same cabin for both cruises. As I recall we had to disembark for a few hours and got back on. We did not have to go through the embarkation process since we had sea passes and were told to bypass the line to go directly onboard.

Yes, you do have to leave the ship and re-board. There will be information put in your cabin sometime during the first cruise to explain the process. You will be asked to meet with a group with only your ID, passport and room key. You will be escorted off, clear customs, held for a bit and then you re-board. Really simple especially if you have the same cabin for both cruises. NOTHING TO DO IT!!

The specifics of leaving and reboarding seem to vary with ship/port. We were on the Jewel in NOLA a couple of years ago and were given stickers that stated "in transit". We had to leave the ship and clear customs, but were told we could do so whenever we pleased. We waited until the crowds were gone, then walked off. We could have waited in the terminal, but had a couple of things to pick up between cruises, so left for an hour or so. We came back, checked back through security, then were escorted back on the ship. Easy peasy.

Last year on the Breakaway out of New York, we were told to leave our belongings in our cabin (since we were in the same cabin for both parts of our cruise) and to meet other B2B passengers in one of the lounges.

We waited there until we were escorted off the ship, (may have had "in transit" name tag sticker that we were told to wear). We were allowed to go off on our own, or stay with the group and re-board the ship.

We were told that we had to WAIT until the ship was zero cleared out of all passengers, then we could re-board.

Very easy.

Enjoy your cruise.

We were doing a B2B cruise out of Miami last October, and the day in Miami between the two cruises, we got stickers on that said "In Transit - Still on vacation". We just left the ship and came back on like we would have done in any regular port during the cruise - no lines and no customs to go through, if I remember correctly. It went very smoothly...

It depends on where your B2B turns around. We did a B2b with Copenhagen as our port and we were not required to leave the ship.

I understand if your port is in the USA, you will have to disembark.

You don't say where your first cruise ends, second cruise begins. If in the US, then what others have told you is correct that you must leave the ship. That is because US requires ship to "zero down", all passengers off.

However, this is not true in European ports. As 4774Papa experienced, in Europe you are not required to leave the ship. You may remain on for as long as you wish, even all day.
