tbmrt Posted June 5, 2015 #126 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Personally, I can't imagine that most people would be that interested in spending an overnight in the Caribbean. It seems to me that most people will be back on board and there may be a lot less for them to do because many of the on board services, shops and the casino would be closed. Other areas of the world...great. I'm a bit surprised that cruisers who enjoy the casinos haven't posted about losing a night to play due to new overnight policy. I totally sympathize with people who lost Bonaire and Dominica with this change. Snorkeling Bonaire is supposedly amazing and Dominica is absolutely gorgeous....one of our favorite ports. Oceangoer2 Posted June 5, 2015 #127 Share Posted June 5, 2015 While I answered no, I wasn't contacted on your survey, I did receive a very lengthy port survey a few months ago in which I indicated I was in favor of overnights. I remember several people talking about the survey, and I wonder if that's what Celebrity is referring to? I'm a long time X cruiser and didn't receive any survey re port overnights from Celebrity. Do they have a preferred list?
Cindy Posted June 5, 2015 #128 Share Posted June 5, 2015 I'm a long time X cruiser and didn't receive any survey re port overnights from Celebrity. Do they have a preferred list? It has to have been random...since I only have one Celebrity cruise so far they certainly didn't pick me for my loyalty!:D
Rare ghstudio Posted June 5, 2015 #129 Share Posted June 5, 2015 It has to have been random...since I only have one Celebrity cruise so far they certainly didn't pick me for my loyalty!:D Market research doesn't require a 100% sample. They may have done a statistically accurate survey which only required a few hundred respondants...or they may have used input from other sources. More than likely, there was some sort of backup for the decision, but as suggested by others, I think the financials were very appealing so the backup was somewhat incidental to support the decision. C 2 C Posted June 5, 2015 #130 Share Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) I'm a long time X cruiser and didn't receive any survey re port overnights from Celebrity. Do they have a preferred list? I think it involves people who don't cruise much and Celebrity wants to know how to entice them. Celebrity knows a good product will keep us diehards coming back and won't bother asking us our opinion. Either that or a number of people complained about the same old (but sold out) cruises that they would like something different. Our repeat business is proof enough that we're a captive audience.
