GUEST080219 Posted June 17, 2015 Author #126 Share Posted June 17, 2015 Question - are there many children on your cruise? I plan to cruise to Northern Europe soon and am looking at the best time to go without many children on board. IMO it is a different cruise with lots of kids on board; I love children but I don't always love their parents with poor parenting skills. :) Thanks, enjoy the rest of the cruise! Thanks. I think it is 40 something children on this cruise. You hardly notice them.
GUEST080219 Posted June 17, 2015 Author #127 Share Posted June 17, 2015 The promenade deck has not only some nice loungers and small tables but also a good amount of chairs.
Lanzador Posted June 17, 2015 #128 Share Posted June 17, 2015 Wow, ...first sunny day in six months! You've been really lucky with the weather. We had a similar experience on an Alaska cruise a couple years ago. Not a single drop of rain for seven days in one of the wettest places on the planet. GUEST080219 Posted June 17, 2015 Author #130 Share Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) Dinner today again in Aqua After that the first time really visiting the 5'oclock somewhere bar. The stools are really uncomfortable Some music from Nick But those who said the acoustics are really bad in here are probably right. Still great drinks and even better staff. GUEST080219 Posted June 17, 2015 Author #132 Share Posted June 17, 2015 I think you call it 12:30am. Late night at O'sheehans There is no chance to get a soup so it has to be fish and chips again
GUEST080219 Posted June 18, 2015 Author #133 Share Posted June 18, 2015 Good morning from Leknes Today is our second and last tender port. My jokes shore excursion starts at 12:45 but meeting point is on the pier so I will go down to the tender around

GUEST080219 Posted June 18, 2015 Author #136 Share Posted June 18, 2015 And the final stop in the fishing village Was the tour worth it? Rather not, I did not find the stops too retesting and to make it worse the tour guy was from Virginia and not a local and did his first tour. Tender back was a mess as between 6 and 8 tour bus came back at the same time and they had not enough tenders ready waiting for us.

bonniesmum Posted June 18, 2015 #138 Share Posted June 18, 2015 What a fabulous review. I have just devoured every word, every photo! What a wonderful journey you are on. We have recently returned from an awesome 30 day T/A Baltic Capitals and Norwegian Fjords cruise. We had the best time ever! It was great catching a glimpse of a favourite bar person, a part of the ship we frequented... I can't thank you enough for all the trouble you went to to share your vacation with us. Cheers and keep safe Kris :D:D
GUEST080219 Posted June 19, 2015 Author #139 Share Posted June 19, 2015 As I went back from the excursion I remembered that I had used the casino voucher to reserve a table in Cagneys today. Although not really in the mood for it Regarding the bar situation. Sugarcane closes at 11pm, 5 o'clock around midnight and spinnaker around 1:30am. Which makes it really difficult to get a good drink. So what else can you do apart from walking around in the midnight sun All from around 2am. GUEST080219 Posted June 19, 2015 Author #141 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Now this really ticks me off. I booked a deck 12 cabin to just have one flight of stairs and being on the open deck 13. After they are still roping off the jogging track every night and of course I did not get any response to my note to the HD. Tonight I was walking from the aft on deck 13 to the front Midship staircase exit next to Cagneys was roped off as well. So I went to guest services and their answer is that is an order from the bridge to block the open deck when the wind is to strong. Now the wind isn't as bad and why do I know this? Because of this The forward staircase isn't roped of at all so from there on you can walk all the front to the ship. These are things that are so stupid that they really make me insane
Sherrica Posted June 19, 2015 #142 Share Posted June 19, 2015 The deck closures are unfortunate [emoji17]. I noticed in the daily that you posted the dining page that no main dining room was listed as open for lunch. Has this been true the whole cruise? Even on sea days? I have only cruised 3 times, but I really enjoyed lunch in the MDR. Thanks again for sharing your trip with us!

I was on The Star last week and they never listed a MDR in the Dailies as being open for lunch, but Versailles was open all but one of the port days. DebbieCruises Posted June 19, 2015 #145 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Now this really ticks me off. I booked a deck 12 cabin to just have one flight of stairs and being on the open deck 13. Since you are on deck 12, would you mind noticing the cabin doors as you walk down the hallway and posting whether they are flat or louvered doors. We are traveling in a group and staying on deck 12 in 12030, 12530, etc. and plan to use magnetic decorations on the doors. If they are louvered, obviously our plan will have to be changed. I have thoroughly enjoyed your pictures and comments throughout your cruise. Thank you for taking the time to post everything.

gauchotex Posted June 19, 2015 #149 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Michael, Great pictures and updates! The cruise looks great and I feel like we're getting to be there with you. Thanks for posting. I have a bit of a different question, I noticed on the dailies the "Solo get togethers" on a regular basis. I will be traveling on my own next week for the Baltic capitals cruise and was wondering if anybody attends those or if I should mostly plan to go on my own. Thanks and keep enjoying!
