I totally agree with your O'Sheehan's assessment. We ate there twice on the Getaway a few months ago and I couldn't finish either meal, the fish/chips or the prime rib.

I think the jogging track is just closed to joggers, not casual walkers. I'd just step over the rope. What are they going to do, throw you overboard?

I and a couple of other people are doing it. But one it isn't very friendly to the people who have are not as fit and second it is just annoying

again just goes to show how subjective food is

we ate more times in O sheehans and enjoyed fish and chips, burgers, wings etc but couldn't be bothered with wait times in MDR

we find Le Bistro too garlic infused and yet lots of people rave about it

all comes down to choice which is just as well otherwise everyone would be queuing at the same restaurants:)

I love the casual atmosphere of O'Sheenans and had some reasonable meals there. However the quality of the fish'n'chips was dire. All very subjective I know but you can get much better on any British high street!
Relaxing and comfortable place to hang out though

Thank you MICM!! ...A ton of us have been patiently waiting for new post dry dock pics of the star and you are the first to really show the new spaces...keep them coming...curious what Moderno/Sugarcan looks like. Hope you enjoy the rest of your cruse! ~Erin
Okay, I really have to stop visiting O'Sheehans. Third time and third time below par. I am neither impressed by the menu choices not by the taste. If my memory is not completely off it was 100 times better on the epic in their inaugural season.

What annoyed me from day one was this

Seriously we are in such a great scenic itinerary. I am all for putting signs up that jogging is not allowed but don't rope the area towards the sea off.
So I left a note for the hotel director on day two to please think about it again. Not that I did not get any response but the rope is still there every night.
The reason they close off part of the Jogging track overnight is that there are SUITES directly under the track.

Bad design of NCL to replace the original Spinnaker lounge with Suites and have some Suites fall under the jogging track!!

Sugarcane is the old Star Bar - no Walk through Sugarcane and there is a salad bar set up, then Moderno in what used to be Cagney's annex. Sorry I don't have any pics of it. But can say that Star Bar hasn't changed - same uncomfortable seating, even.

MICM - I am absolutely loving your review. We were on the Star right after the dry dock for a Mexican Riviera cruise, and it's fun to see her again. I'm really enjoying your pics of the ports and scenery shots. Don't know if I'll ever make it to that neck of woods, so it's really interesting to see what the ports look like. The after midnight pics are so interesting and pretty, and this one is just breathtaking. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.

I am happy that someone enjoys it. The ship is so dead it is incredible sad. I am pretty excited about the glacier tomorrow as I had no idea that would be part of that route. I asked guest services if some other special events are planned for the arctic circle crossing or the first midnight sun. He wasn't aware that there will be done something so I better expect nothing.

Regarding the weather. It gets quite windy and chilly now outside but with a wind proof hooded jacket it is comfortable

I was in one of those suites. I'd rather have had access to the track and risk the noise. 9am is excessive.

Good morning from Norway and now even from above the arctic circle. We just passed the monument but as I did take he pictures with my real camera for now just a quick shot after passing it. Not sure if you can recognize anything though

We stayed there for a long time and slowly turned the ship all way around. Can it get any better than this? Sun, a lounger, a drink and a view of a glacier

It was told this is the first sunny day here since six months.

First time ever I heard classic music on the pool deck

That is where we went

Absolutely beautiful!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share. The scenery reminds me quite a bit of Alaska, another beautiful place and cruise.

Question - are there many children on your cruise? I plan to cruise to Northern Europe soon and am looking at the best time to go without many children on board. IMO it is a different cruise with lots of kids on board; I love children but I don't always love their parents with poor parenting skills. :)

Thanks, enjoy the rest of the cruise!
