iCruiseTooMuch Posted November 9, 2016 #877 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Question: How many crown and anchor points do I get on a Royal Carib casino royale complimentary interior that I paid $500 to upgrade to junior suite. chandom Posted November 9, 2016 #878 Share Posted November 9, 2016 (edited) Should be 21 1 per night for being on the ship 1 per night for being in a JS or higher 1 per night for sailing solo in a room that normally hold two or more. iCruiseTooMuch Posted November 9, 2016 #880 Share Posted November 9, 2016 Thank you for the 2 responses even though they were different answers-- and that is my problem. Nobody including casino royale and crown and anchor can give me the same definitive answer. When I upgraded the comped cruise casino royale said I would get 21 points. C&A say NO points even though I paid $500 to upgrade. Does anyone have email address or phone number to RCCL president? #55worktoplay Posted November 10, 2016 #881 Share Posted November 10, 2016 I believe you will get 21 points but I also believe that some do and some don't but in my experience I got double points for a junior suite upgrade. I wouldn't rock the boat if I were you.
iCruiseTooMuch Posted November 10, 2016 #882 Share Posted November 10, 2016 I would never rock the boat but I am afraid I will get ZERO points if I don't get a promise from C&A before the cruise starts as far as how many points I will get. I am EMERALD now and 21 points will make me DIAMOND. Anybody have any ideas?
OTownNick Posted November 10, 2016 #883 Share Posted November 10, 2016 (edited) You get regular points just like any other cruise. Double points for solo in a regular room and triple points solo in a suite. I get comps all the time and the points are just like any other cruise Edited November 10, 2016 by OTownNick
OTownNick Posted November 14, 2016 #884 Share Posted November 14, 2016 On Majesty now. Apparently the tier levels have been established. My SeaPass card was printed with "Prime" on it and I had no idea what it meant til I asked the Loyalty Ambassador. He said it was Club Royale level. He said Prime was the top level. Now this cruise I totally stayed out of the casino so I didn't talk to the host. Friday I will sail on the Jewel and there I will talk to the host and gamble a little bit. I'm also going to call CR this morning and find out more info

I was put on hold er the rep checked with someone - came back with same answer. I was told a supervisor would be calling me back. I did ask if the tier level has been implemented on the ship how it is they have no information when you call to ask...

OTownNick Posted November 15, 2016 #888 Share Posted November 15, 2016 My CR rep said she knew about the "names" being proposed for the 4 levels but she didn't have any information yet on what each level gets. Said that there is a battle with Crown and Anchor Society having an issue with Club Royale VIPs getting equal or better perks than top tier C&A members. The C&A wants to be "exclusive" to the loyal cruisers and they don't want CR members who may have only sailed a few times being able to get perks better than a Diamond Plus or Pinnacle would get... I'm sure SOON we will hear more. In talking to someone I believe that "Prime" that I'm assigned to is only the 2nd tier up on the system. Bummer lol

I'm not too sure what to expect from my $500 certificate that I received from Liberty of the Seas last month. I finally got around to checking into it, realizing that the 30-day expiration clock was ticking, only to discover that my certificate doesn't even have a certificate number on it. Plus, the rep from Club Royale that I spoke with couldn't find such a certificate having been entered for me, so I don't know what they're going to do if the information got lost since the cruise. Plus, I'm similarly booked up for the next year. I've only got two cruises booked in 2017, but since I just started a new job last month, my vacation accrual has reset, so I've got to take it a bit slower until it builds up a bit. The second cruise I have in 2017 is technically after the one year mark for when the certificate was issued, so I may be out of luck. Of course, the certificate also says that it's for "new bookings only", so I probably won't have any chance to use this certificate anyway. You may be able to get them to apply the certificate towards an existing booking. I would ask

I would ask I hope so. I did pass along a scan of the certificate to my travel agent to whom I transferred my October 2017 booking as Club Royale said that she'd need to call in to inquire about using the certificate on this sailing. maryjaden Posted November 16, 2016 #892 Share Posted November 16, 2016 I am on the Adventure right now. I did get my sticker put on in the casino from the host. Interesting to note the woman standing ahead of me only received drink vouchers. I did not have a tier on my card. After seeing Nick's post I specifically asked the host about the levels. He told me that they haven't been assigned yet and were still implementing them. So typical of RCL.

canuckcruiselover Posted November 16, 2016 #896 Share Posted November 16, 2016 I have never had a tax form on a cruise (largest single win only 1.5K :o) so I have no experience with tax forms being given out on a cruise. In Las Vegas, I have had 30% deducted from my winnings and a form issued. Could anyone tell me if US Citizens are given tax forms when they win a jackpot? We are Canadian however a friend has asked about it and he is a US citizen. Thanks Kathy On my recent Royal Caribbean cruise from Seattle to San Francisco, I won a jackpot while we were sailing from Oregon to SF. For the first time, 30% tax was withheld. When I questioned the host, he told me that as we were in American waters they had to withhold the tax. I would have thought we were in international waters but there was no use arguing with him. Tax has never been deducted when sailing to the Caribbean. The good news is that, as Canadians, we can recover the tax from the IRS.

It has nothing to do with where the ship is sailing. Withholding began last year. If you cash out chips from table wins over a certain amount at one time there is also reporting to the IRS. Withholding has become same on cruise ships - with corporate offices in the US - as in land based casinos in the US.
