Nick, this must be a fairly new change. When I booked August 22 for our Harmony cruise in 2017 without using a comp cruise, I was able to book my daughter and her husband at the casino rate.

This lady said they just started this "2 months ago", but they never gave me this limitation before, even recently... So this person may not know what is going on! This would certainly limit more of our benefits but I think I only took advantage of this 2 times so no biggie.

Whoa - I know mark (daghis) is cruising so I may not hear back from him until next week. But are you guys saying that we don't immediately get the free drinks and the 5% fee waived? The first thing we do night one is get our sticker and get some cash and start playing. Geez, lately all I'm hearing is bad news. Major entertainment cutbacks and now this. We may be going to bed early!

When I called to book my free Empress offer this month, the RCI Rep stated that we would get free drinks while gambling (I specifically asked). Does this mean they were wrong? We are not VIP, just got the free OV cabin offer and we paid for an upgrade to JS, which on this ship is just a regular balcony cabin.

On the Grandeur last week the hostess came over and put the VIP sticker on my card when the casino opened. I was immediately given free drinks and no surcharge for cash from the window. She said that the policy was new. I am a member of Club Royal and have been for a couple of years. Who know's what will change by the time I sail next month. Good Luck.

I did get the sticker (from the casino cashier as the casino host wasn't around). It gives me free drinks in the casino (I've got the beverage package, so that's useless) and waiving the 5% fee. On day 2, the host put a VIP sticker on my friend's SeaPass card for being my "+1".

I just got off the LOS on Sunday. My VIP sticker was already on my card when I checked in at the pier. Also, the 5% was waived and was able to drink at the bar for free even when I wasn't playing. The bartender told me that as long as the casino is open, the drinks are free, playing or not playing. I was also told, cash rebates are gone, it's a free cruise from a selection of their choice or cash deducted from a cruise of your choice. From what I've read, it seems as each ship has their own way of doing things? I did receive a free cruise certificate for two in a balcony stateroom or $1000.00 off a cruise of my choice delivered to my stateroom.

Free OV with $3375 actual loss, $2250 theoretical loss, or 3600 points

Free Inside with $2250 actual loss, $1500 theoretical loss, or 2400 points

Not sure the program has changed since...

$1700 lost if I remember correctly and 2400 points = $500US certificate off future cruise

Marc, Linda, Nick and the rest of the casino experts.

Please see the following I received from RCI. You will see at the bottom that I will receive a future credit of 25% of the cruise fair paid. Now keep in mind, this is a cruise that I applied a $600.00 rebate (when they were still available) to.

Any of you have any experience or thoughts about this. Do they consider the rebate as part of what I paid or do they base the 25% on the bottom line?

This is what I received from RCI:

*

About your upcoming travels

*

In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, a devastating storm that affected the Bahamas, the country continues its recovery efforts. Our thoughts are with those affected by the storm.

*

Adventure of the Seas, the ship on which you’ve booked your vacation, is scheduled for renovation in Freeport, Bahamas during October and November. Due to extensive damage incurred at the shipyard and the global rerouting of cargo ships carrying equipment and materials, the original renovation plan has been modified.

*

In an effort to create the least amount of disruption to your vacation plans, Adventure of the Seas will re-enter service on November 14th, 2016 as originally planned. Throughout the ship, you will notice an updated design and décor, as well as newly renovated areas such as Boleros Latin lounge and the two-story mini golf course.

*

Unfortunately, the following features will not be available for your cruise:

*

·******** Dual Racer water slides

·******** FlowRider surf simulator

·******** Splashaway Bay kids’ aqua park

As part of the planned dining enhancements, Chops Grille will open early next year, while Izumi Japanese Cuisine will no longer be offered. In the meantime, Giovanni’s Table, already a guest-favorite onboard, will serve select Chops Grille menu items.

*

Please note that during your cruise you will see our teams continue their hard work to complete the ship’s new features.

*

In gratitude for your patience and understanding, we would like to offer you a 25% Future Cruise Credit based on the cruise fare paid. This certificate will be sent to your email address on file or mailed to your home. Please allow up to two weeks for all transactions to be processed.

*

We are committed to delivering the highest level of service and quality for which Royal Caribbean is known on your Adventure of the Seas vacation and we look forward to welcoming you onboard.

I have never had a tax form on a cruise (largest single win only 1.5K :o) so I have no experience with tax forms being given out on a cruise. In Las Vegas, I have had 30% deducted from my winnings and a form issued.

Could anyone tell me if US Citizens are given tax forms when they win a jackpot? We are Canadian however a friend has asked about it and he is a US citizen.

Thanks

Kathy

Hi There,

How was the golf event on the Anthem? Hope you made it to Bermuda. I did a search and couldn't find any messages about it.

Hope you all had a great time.

We did go to Bermuda, those that played in the Golf event had a great time. I gave up my opportunity to golf with them as my handicap was high from last year's Golf event and didn't want to delay the more experience golfers.

Mary I was in a similar situation and the bottom line was the FCC was based on the cruise fare I paid, feel free to email me for any additional info @ heartlcrc@aol.com

The answer is yes, as of September 2015, RCI will now give a US citizens a W2G tax form when winning a jackpot of $1200 and more.

Mary, I believe the 25% future cruise credit is the cruise fare charged to you. The $600 casino payment doesn't count. So if you paid $1000 for the cruise and applied $600 casino Cert. then the future cruise credit should be $250 (25% of the cruise fare)

Thanks for responding I was invited on last years event and before final payment date came I cancelled because I was afraid of a hurricane happening. After hearing about what a great time you had of course I regretted my decision even though coming to Canada on a Cruise ship wouldn't be at the top of my list :). Sadly I wasn't invited on this years which was really strange because my last sailing on a 5 day cruise I earned a 1000.00 certificate which really equates to allot of money spent in the casino, next to nothing for winnings.

Glad to hear it was a great success again.

Heard from the source that CR is shooting for 4 Golf Events in 2017, instead of their normal two, so hopefully you'll be invited next year. They had 80 players this year and there was also a wait list, don't know if all were able to play.

Anthem's 5-6-17 sailing may be their first Golf Event, won't have the true dates until sometime in December. I went ahead and booked the 5-6-17 sailing just in case. If I had to take a guess on another date, it would be in October.

Well isn't that a fluke, I am booked on the May 6 sailing!

I hope I can keep the booking though my husband just informed me he wanted to go to a Nascar race and it just so happens to land on the same weekend. If I can keep it I also hope I'm invited for golf. I doubt it though my gambling budget has decreased significantly as I am now subsidizing My mothers retirement living and when I'm done that I will have to save for my own! Yowza it isn't cheap to live in a nice spot at that stage in life. :)

Thanks for the info.

Could anyone tell me if I can use an email discount offer from CR on a Celebrity cruise? TIA

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

I think not. The casinos for Royal and Celebrity are separate programs. However you can call Celebrity Blue Chip Club at 8664617170. If you are a Club Royal member they will be able to research your play history with Royal and perhaps something can be offered....
