Looking for Breeze Balcony Cabin Recommendations

Hi,

My wife and I are planning our 10th anniversary cruise next year for the Breeze and are in need of balcony cabin recommendations.

We've done the cove balcony on the Dream and loved it. Any particularly good cove cabins on the Breeze? I've heard that some may not be as obstructed by the lifeboats as others.

How about balconies on other decks? Anyone have any good or bad experiences with certain rooms, decks, or cabin categories? 8D, 8E, etc.?

Thanks!

We had cabin 7448 on the Dream last year, a cat 8B. The cabin itself was small but we had a long balcony next to the aft wrap. Also, on the back of the ship, deck 5 promenade doesn't stick out so you do see water when looking down rather than the deck. No hot tubs nearby either. Not sure if the Breeze has the same deck plans but I think it's worth looking into.

None of the coves have any obstruction at all. Some people think that they are able to get a tan on their balcony, so they don't want a lifeboat overhead to block the sun. Maybe they're the type that can get a dark tan within 10 minutes at 8:30pm under thick clouds, but that's not me. The lifeboats are not an obstruction; it just blocks the sunlight, which I see as a good thing. The sun's rays are too weak to tan me except when it's overhead, when no balconies are receiving any sun at all. The lifeboats block the sun when the rays are weak, & the shade makes it more comfortable out there.

Every other balcony other than coves will have an obstruction. The deck 5 lanai (outdoor public walkway) circles the entire ship, so every balcony above deck 5 will look down and see the lanai. From some spots, it's not much of an obstruction at all, and some people actually like to look down and see the public deck. But I prefer to look down and see the water hitting the side of the ship, which you will only get with a cove on this ship.

If you do decide on a cove, get one that is forward from the midship elevators. Otherwise, you will be below the galley/kitchen. Some spots below the galley are fine, some have noise from above during the overnight. Best not to risk it. Below the dining room is most ideal, since it's totally empty all night.

We had cove balcony cabin 2268 on the Breeze. No life boats directly overhead. Not under the galley, so no noise from above. Close to where passengers embark/disembark while in port, so a great location to watch for dock runners. A tip for you if you choose a cove balcony: Except for embarkation day and disembarkation day, the Aft elevator is the least busiest of the three (Forward, Mid and Aft). We found it's much better to walk to the Aft elevator while still on Deck 2. There's not much foot traffic to contend with.;)

We booked 10274 on Dream and 10277 on both Breeze and Magic, all on Lido. (Though they were connecting cabins, we never heard any noise from next door on our three cruises. Plus the door handle provided a great place to hang damp bathing suits. :D We would not hesitate to book 10277 again and we definitely will the next time we are fortunate to book any of the three ships.) They were close to the buffet for getting coffee and food to enjoy on our balcony, close to the pools so we could easily go back to our cabin for forgotten items or to use our own bathroom. Perfect location for us since we spend most of our sea days on the Lido soaking in the sun.

A side note-we booked 10277 because they are starboard side and there is no smoking on the Lanai (deck 5) below. The port side of the Lanai does allow smoking. OK, folks, please don't turn this into a pro-smoking/anti-smoking thread.

Breeze is an awesome ship! Great choice.

Another vote for the Lido deck. Last year we had cabin 10291 on the Breeze. It was very quiet, no noise from the deck and very convenient for going to the buffet for breakfast, if the buffet was crowded you had the option of taking your meal to the cabin which we did many times. The food was still warm too. I never had a cove balcony but I've heard lots of good things about them. It all comes down to what you're looking for. Now when I book I do Lido balconies whenever possible.

Awesome advice. I didn't know. Thanks!

Seeing as the Lanai is 5 decks down, I would think this would be a non-issue.

Yes, we did encounter a bit of smoke from the forward part of the Lanai when we sailed Dream. People sat on deck chairs below enjoying themselves. We could not sit on our balcony for a while so we were not enjoying ourselves. We left and found other activities that we enjoyed instead. Booked starboard after that, so issue was resolved.

Again...this is not an anti-smoking/pro-smoking invitation.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary on the Breeze in May and we booked room 6470 , an aft wrap around . The balcony was awesome ! I measured it and it is 35 ft long. It has 3 lounge chairs and 3 upright chairs

My choice for a balcony would be 8346 or one on either side. We have sailed on Dream 6 times and tried to get this cabin each time.

To me, this cabin is perfect in that it is right by the center elevator and when we sit out on the balcony, we don't look right at Deck 5 instead of the sea. We try to eat most of our meals in the dining room, and ATD is in the front dining room, while breakfast is in the rear. Being smack dab in the middle, is perfect.

We also enjoy spending time in the casino, so once again, being right in the middle means just getting on the elevator and going down, we are right by the casino. Love the location.

Deck 7, next to the suites mid ship. Quiet, less crowded, if you stand up on your balcony you can see the entire ship, look down at the frolickers on the promenade, sit down and you have a lovely view of the ocean and no one on the decks below can see you...nicely sunny either morning or late afternoon, shady at mid day. None of the claustrophobic feel of the cove balconies.
