Breakaway Muster Drills

Sorry if this has been asked.. i searched but didn't come up with an answer. my question is, where are the muster drill stations?

our family is spread out on the Breakaway.. some on deck 13, I'm on 12, three cabins are on deck 11 and some on deck 5. I know they have different locations for each deck, but I'm just wondering if I'll be by myself and separated from my family???

Also, I have slight claustrophobia (I'm fine as long as nothing is right in front of me) & I usually tell the staff so they don't shove me in the back of a line. when I was on our Disney cruise, another staff member tried to move me and put tons of people around me... the first staff member remembered and said "NO, she stays up front!!! don't block her in!!"

On Carnival, I had my mother in a wheelchair, so they just checked us in and let us stay in the lobby area near the elevators.

Thanks for your help :D

you probably will be separated for the muster drill.

but in the case of a real emergency, they have no problem with family/friends being together and all going to the same muster station.

We were midship on deck 12 and our muster station was the atrium. They said it was the biggest muster station on the ship and there were several "sections". For example, we were in section "c" and congregated just beyond the Internet cafe next to the stage. 2 other lettered sections were right beside us, plus 3 more in front of the stage plus another 3 near guest services. Then there were other muster stations in the casino, o'Sheehan and shanghai.

It was by far the most "open" muster drill I've participated in. As far as I know, there weren't any stations outside and if you showed up by 3pm you could get a seat, just be sure to have your card scanned. It took about 15 minutes total. We arrived 10 minutes early and I was still able to find a seat. I'm pregnant and tend to overheat in crowded areas and I felt fine the entire time. I noticed some people sat on the floor and moved around as well. It wasn't like our muster drills on other lines where the crew made everyone line up according to when they showed up it was a lot more casual.

This was 3 weeks ago on the breakaway.

Absolutely wrong. There is a very real reason why people are assigned where they are.

no. I asked that since on my cruise one of the family members walks with a cane and was alone in his studio cabin.

the employee said in a real emergency, we can be in the same muster station.

We were both section A. I think I was A2 and he was A6.

In general you won't to be concerned about the crowds at muster. You don't stand outside in a group, all packed together, like some other cruise lines. Most all, if not all, muster stations will be inside somewhere. (theater, a restaurant, etc.) As long as you get there a little early, you'll be able to just sit down and wait until it's over.

In order to reduce unnecessary walking during real emergency, muster stations are not assigned by deck, but on cabin location length-wise (cabins above each other are usually in the same station). So cabin located at very front of the ship will never use the same assembly station as a cabin located at very back.

Location is assigned based on the letter & # on your card key. Most C's are at the Atrium deck 6. Listen to the announcement.

When we were on the Breakaway this past September, our muster station was The Manhatttan Room along with several hundred other people. Other stations were the theater and other AIR CONDITIONED public areas. There was no more standing on the port or starboard decks holding your life jackets as some other lines still do.

Essentially they showed a brief film about what to do if a real emergency takes place and where to assemble. It was the most pleasant muster drill we had ever attended.

We're taking our whole family of children and grandchildren next Sunday on the same cruise; all eleven of us, and the drill will not be too trying on the five little ones.

The muster information is listed on the back of each cabin door.

LOL, Thank you. I should have been more clear. I know how find my muster station when I'm on the ship. I am just curious now as to where it would be. My guess is the Manhattan room.

Does NCL require you to where the life jackets during muster drill? It has been a few years since we have sailed NCL.

Leave the life jackets in your cabin - just know where they are !

In the past life jackets were taken to the muster station and some cruise

lines had the passengers put on the jackets and get familiar with the

jackets features i.e. little flashlight and blow tube to inflate.

"BUT" when the passengers in going to and from the muster stations started

to trip over the straps this was stopped in favor of a more reasonable method.

Amen

Cavet - DO NOT MISS THE MUSTER DRILL - the crew be looking for you !

Any one know where the Aft cabins go for muster?

We had one of the aft cabins on deck 9 which gave a spectacular view, especially leaving NY harbor. As I said, we mustered ( or as my grandkids would say, "mustard") in the Manhattan room.

If you have one of the aft cabins, look at the underside of the Verrazano Bridge as you sail under it, and take bets on how long it will take before the bridge rusts out. HEY MAYOR DE BLASIO, PLEASE DON'T LET IT FALL DOWN!! Staten Island will secede to NooJoisey........ oh......that's why no one has fixed it........
