Excellent!! Best news I have heard. The Island and the Coral have always been favourites. Thank you. Can you tell me if there has been any formal announcement from Princess posted anywhere? Have tried to research this but no luck.

No, but some on CC that have Princess connections have confirmed.

The dry dock was set for Jan 2016 and cruises were canceled. Then the dry dock was canceled and cruises are available again.

Don't think that there was ever really an announcement for the Coral in the first place.

Does anyone know if Princess still plans to make changes on the Coral similar to the changes made on the Island Princess?

Thank you for any updates.

Cheers

Louden

No its been canceled. :)

To be very clear. The scheduled drydock has not been cancelled permanently. It's been postponed, most likely due to some issues that have arisen on the Island.

It's fully expected plans will be revised and she will be modified in the future.

What's wrong with the changes on the Island?

What they did change:

o Changed the Universe Lounge into cabins

o Changed the rear viewing platforms into cabins

o Added additional cabins where part of the casino was

o Eliminated the aft part of the outside promenade walkway

o Reduced the size of the library

What they did not change:

o No International Cafe added

o No additional public space or dining room space for the additional passengers

Island used to be our favorite ship. We loved the aft viewing platforms. Now they've used this space for more cabins . We hope that the Coral Princess won't be changed in this way!!

These changes are exactly why we switched from the Island to the Coral for our cruise next summer.

I will be extremely disappointed if they make the same changes to the Coral.

Hope not!

We had similar thoughts on our booking on Celebrity M class ships once they added cabins from public spaces.

Loved Coral and Island Princess ships. Need to check on Coral before they do "fix" her.
