Crown and Anchor Society enrollment?

I tried to search for this information but really couldn't find what I was looking for. I have seen on a couple of threads where people sign up for the Crown and Anchor Society before going on their first cruise. My aunt and her friend are joining us on a cruise next year and they have never cruised before. Can they actually sign up for the Crown and Anchor Society prior to their first cruise? Do they get any benefits if they can? Thanks for any information you can give to me.

You usually sign up for the Crown and Anchor following your cruise. You can certainly sign up for it now, but, the various benefits won't kick in until after you've sailed.

Each cruise enables you to accrue points toward greater on board rewards, like complementary bath robes, on board cocktail parties, special gifts, reward pins and much more.

Yes you can sign up prior to your first cruise. There are no benefits until the second cruise.

Since they've never cruised before don't forget the "Bring a friend" promotion. You can get $25.00 OBC per cabin. If they're in separate cabins that's $50.00 OBC for you.

.....unless they have violated the "rules" for the promotion in one of thousands of ways.
