Nightclub on the Escape ?

Margaritaville is the actual space that would be the popular night club area. The 5 o'clock somewhere bar is just a small bar on the ship. You are also correct that they envision the Skyline Bar being a "night club" type area, but it is just an open space so who knows if that will work out. We will see if this lack of a dedicated space works out for them. Hopefully there are enough other places that are open late that it doesn't matter. It could actually be an improvement by having several different spaces open later for different tastes in atmosphere....

Margaritaville is definitely NOT nightclub-like at all. There are already pictures floating around. As someone else said, it takes the place of Flamingo/Uptown Grill, and is a covered but semi-outdoor eatery near the pool. The bar there has about 6 stools. The rest is simply restaurant. I'll be surprised if it's even open after 4pm, or if it keeps the same hours as it's sister restaurants on BA/GA.

Hum....who know...i cant tell anymore. I could have sworn one of the groups that visited the ship said 5 o'clock was just a small bar but who knows.....I will find out soon enough :-)

Here is a link to a picture of Margaritaville....it looks like it is inside. Maybe just an old render?

Yup the rendering is correct. It's enclosed on three sides along with a roof, but it's completely open on the end yo can't see in the rendering so no air conditioning. On one side is a bar, the other side windows to the sea, and on the end is a buffet. Looks like the exact same setup as the Flamingo Grill on GETAWAY … just a different name and more burgers on the menu I'm guessing. It's mostly just an afternoon spot for lunch, at least on GETAWAY.

I haven't seen a single rendering of the 5 O'Clock Somewhere bar, so I'm not sure one exists. It is in the same space as The Grammy Experience on GETAWAY so it's fairly large. Don't know the exact use or hours yet.

The Star got a 5 o'clock Somewhere bar this year and it is shown here:

http://www.buffettnews.com/2015/04/01/14359/

and here: (menu included)

They don't look anything like what is pictured on NCL's Escape site:

http://www.escape.ncl.com/dining/the-5-oclock-somewhere-bar

I think they probably just used a photo of an actual bar as an example.

The one in CC's article looks similar to the Star::

If the green things on the bar are the "Blender cups" OMG I need them. I need 4 of them.

So a question. With the UBD will I have to pay the $8.00 or $8.00 cup + $8.95 drink -$11 max= 5.95 ....plus tip and tax if in port of Miami. Doesn't matter I am getting them. I usually avoid take home cups but those are just cool.

Where does the live music go in that one? I know the one on Escape is being billed as the live music venue to take the place of Fat Cats / The Grammy Experience. I'm assuming it will be a lot larger, but we shall see.

That looks like the same space and set up as the Flamingo Grill on Getaway. I forget what it is called on Breakaway but they were utilized as a semi outdoor grill. Those large windows in the photo in the link open up to allow fresh air into the space. In the photo linked above, you can see where the buffet line will be.....same as Breakaway and Getaway.

Correct, and other posts above yours also point that out. It's the exact same set up as the Flamingo Grill and Uptown Grill. Andy Stuart's latest video shows the (basically) completed space.

This small bar is what I have see as the 5 o'clock somewhere bar. I believe there was a post from someone confirming it from their visit to the ship. This is why I don't think it will be a night club spot. Sounds like live music is actually in the district Brewhouse. Maybe that's where people will party late?

It has always been billed as a live music venue, even before live music was mentioned at The District. Even now, the website still states, "It’s happy hour, every hour at Jimmy Buffett’s the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar, the first at sea on Norwegian Escape. Enjoy the sounds of the tropics while sipping on a signature margarita on The Waterfront. As the sun starts to set, that’s when the party really heats up. Let the sounds of live musical performances move you well into the night. Or grab a table inside, make some new friends and keep the good times rolling on and on. After all, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere – and you don't need to be anywhere."

The small bar is the one at Margaritaville. I've yet to see an actual picture of the 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar, but on the deck plans, it does indeed take up the footprint of The Grammy Experience and Fat Cats on GA/BA respectively.

A photo I found on the USA Today Escape gallery they list as the 5o'clock Somewhere bar.

The sensible setup for a ship is to have the casino bar and the late night bar/nightclub serviced from the same galley/store/dishwasher area.

They can shut the rest of the ship down and have all the late staff and pax in one place.

if possible don't have passenger decks above or below.

I think the setup on the Spirit is really good the late drinkers can talk in the bar area while the dancers have the space forward.

Also access is through the casino so only one entry point to monitor the age barrier if they want to make it adult only.
