We did the Sounds on the Diamond, lots of good viewing space up top forward.

We were in there with the Radiance, so gorgeous.

Thanks for the update Kiwi Kruzer. Just checked it out and it's as you say, smooth seas with no white caps. Can't wait until we board her on Sunday.:)

Thanks David for all the great photos you have posted whilst the Golden is in your neck of the woods, most appreciated. We have sailed to New Zealand twice and have missed sailing through Milford Sound on both times due to bad weather, it is much better to be safe and sound than sorry. I hope the next try will be more fruitfull. We have sailed passed Napier due to bad high winds, one time the Dawn was actually docked in Napier and they had two tugs pushing against her all day to keep her against the dock. there wasn't much room either when she left port so that is most probably why the Golden will not dock there as she is a much longer ship.

Depends on the wind direction. Napier is exposed to the East and so cops it when an easterly gale blows in.

Right, thanks for that. I suppose nearly any port may be susceptible to wind if it comes from the wrong direction as the ships are so large now.

We actually got into Dusky sound, missed doubtful due to weather, then got into Milford sounds.
