E-500 Posted November 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Just received an email from HAL. We are sailing next Monday on the Oosterdam from Port Everglades. The email stated that they would deny boarding to anyone with Ebola, exposed to Ebola in the last 21 days, been a care giver to an Ebola patient or traveled/visited three countries in Africa recently. Citizens from those three countries booked on this cruise would receive additional screening. Not a factor for us, just an FYI to those on this board. Rare Scrapnana Posted November 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I have had that on the health form that has to be signed before boarding for my last three cruises but have never received an e-mail about it.
Rare Crazy For Cats Posted November 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2015 I got the same email this morning. On the last several cruises I received the same notice all with too short notice to make adjustments if necessary. Lucky for us it isn't a factor. Krazy Kruizers Posted November 11, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Thanks for the information. On our last cruise -- just this past October -- we just had the regular question we have had for years -- concerning Noro virus and sickness related to it. Rare POA1 Posted November 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2015 It's been that way for a while. The Ebola question is part of the standard health questionnaire and has been for over a year. I don't think it's just HAL. It's part of the US Government's pre boarding questionnaire.
serendipity1499 Posted November 11, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2015 Just received the Ebola Warning too.. It was sent to our Travel Agent who forwarded it to us..

I wonder what brought this special email on - have there been recent outbreaks of Ebola? I don't recall reading about it lately. JohnKen3 Posted November 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Strange timing. Sierra Leone was declared Ebola free just last week. Looks like HAL management are some what behind the times. Edited November 12, 2015 by JohnKen3
CZEE Posted November 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 12, 2015 It's been that way for a while. The Ebola question is part of the standard health questionnaire and has been for over a year. I don't think it's just HAL. It's part of the US Government's pre boarding questionnaire. It is. And health providers are asking the same questions about Ebola.
