Anticipation Of Waiting to Cruise. What do you do??

Yea, you're definitely not alone.

My second Carnival cruise is coming up in February. MY BFF has never even left the country before and she's joining me. You would think she'd be obsessing with me, but she's not. She told me I'm obsessed enough for the both of us.

I love the anticipation of cruising almost as much as cruising itself. When the waiting game is up and the cruise is over, I will go into a depression until I've booked my next one, which I will within a month or two, I'm guessing.

I've actually planned out every payday until the cruise with a little something I'm purchasing for myself or the BFF. It will be an incredible trip and she WILL become obsessed eventually.

I do everything that has been mentioned. Plus I use goggle earth and visit all the ports..lol.. My df said I didn't even need to go anymore!! WRONG.. I have terrible anxiety, and all the research helps me RELAX and enjoy myself.. I would have panic attacks if I was ever to go with no prior research...lol. Seriously, I wouldn't now, since I have been on a couple, I am sure I could enjoy a last minute booking.. But I have been heavily researching cruises for about 10 years..I am now thinking about booking a solo for late 2016, and there is a lot to research with that..lol YES, I am an addict !!!!!!!

You have come to the right support group. When no one else cares or wants to understand why we need to know what sides are at Iguana Cafe, you can run right here and not only find the answer but also pictures! Happy planning!

I can't find the link, but I read something that claimed studies show women get more endorphins from long-term planning than men do.

Off to repack my suitcase.

Hi perditax! Im on my phone so I cant see Signatures but we were on the same DCL Dream cruise in September and I followed your pre cruise/post cruise review as well as whem you took NCL Getaway before the Dream. I guess you caught the cruise bug since you are on CCL threads now too!

Happy planning!

Ok my Wife thinks I'm a little crazy cause since I booked Our cruise for March 2016 I've become Obsessed with Everythng about the cruise

First started with finding and making the airline and hotel reservations

Then of course I start my Reading and Reading and Reading everything and anything I can about the ship were sailing on, ports, casino etc

Were on a Premier Casino special so of course I read every post going back I could find lol

Then it was on to members past reviews first about the same Itinerary were doing and then once those were done on to other ports as long as it was still the Conquest

I'm literally running out of reviews to read so now started reading random posts and reviews . This is when my wife said today. Jeezz Hun you've been on that cruise critic site for 5 hours now that was a hour ago and I'm still on lol

Oh and I forgot researching the ports over n over

So is it just me or are there others out there as well who Can't Wait for the cruise date to get here and research n read stuff over n over

Oh and of course my Roll Call only has a few people on it and I can hear crickets and see tumble weeds when I log on at least 5 times a day to see if there's any new chat

It's ok were all friends here feel free to share your cruise obsessions as well

I totally understand. I watch the Live Webcams and watch the ships come and go they will be pulling out of the ports in about 5 minutes.

Hey LaCal! I'm on your March Conquest cruise too and am right there with ya! I wish our roll call would pick up :)

I booked this cruise when it first was released over a year ago so we could snag one of those Grand Scenic Oceanview rooms. Then I checked the roll calls weekly for a year and a half for this cruise, and finally I started it, hoping people would start chatting. I bet it'll pick up after the holidays.

There is a page for this cruise on that popular social media site, but there's not much going on there either. Are you on that site?

In the meantime, we can look at reviews and dream!

Welcome to my world! I love doing my research. I love trying to get the best deal for flights and hotels as well. I love to be prepared and really enjoy ready others peoples stories of their vacations to make plans for mine. I do this for all my vacations . I also have to have another vacation planned so I'm not so sad when my current vacation is over. Life is short, I want to live it!

LaCal, you sound exactly like me!!! Before my first cruise, it was all I could think about. I researched and read so much about cruising that I think I knew more about it than some people who had gone on multiple cruises! And you know what, now that I have gone on my first cruise, it's still all I think about! I had a cruise for Nov of 2016 booked even before I went on my first cruise last month, but when I got back I realized that there's no way I can wait a whole year to go again, so now I have another one booked for next July. [emoji4]

Anyway, welcome to the exciting world of cruising. Be prepared to get even more hooked! And perhaps warn your wife so that she knows what to expect. [emoji6]

Oh, and in case you haven't come across this gem, I love this video. I've listened to it over and over again. This girl really is good. Warning: it's long. Over one hour. But worth listening to when you have time. It's called "What to Expect on a 7 Day Carnival Cruise."

Anticipation Of Waiting to Cruise. What do you do??

I share your anticipation--even after 30+ cruises. My remedy? Book a second cruise where you've got more to research. That should keep you busy with lots of fun cruise stuff while you're waiting!

Best wishes for a great cruise!

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one! We leave in a week and booked back in February. I couldn't do anything else but research research research. Booked hotels and changed my mind. Checked flights multiple times a day. I did everything possible, too, a break and now am back up making sure everything is perfect. This site is amazing for that!

Hi, my name is Cherl and I'm an OCD cruise planner.

LOL, there are different personality types and planners (list makers) are a distinct type.

Unfortunately, while I am a planner, I don't always WRITE down my lists. I also accidentally emptied my email inbox with my hotel reservation in it. So I have my hotel room reserved, but don't know which hotel I selected. Oy vey!

You're not alone. I'm always on Cruise Critic reading the message boards and reviews, checking on the Carnival website for prices, and on John Heald's Facebook page. Since I'm a teacher and off all summer, I go to the beach, and as I'm swimming watch the ships sail away. I live in Miami and have booked several cruises 2 days before sailing.

Ha! My mom asked me the other day, "what are we going to talk about after we go on this cruise?" Apparently it's on both our minds a lot! I told her we would talk about how much we want to go back and will plan another one. I find the planning and listmaking and dreaming and anticipation to be fun! 145 more days for me!

Hi BeachGal. I'm not on that site but might be if u tell me it's pickng up lol

I think our roll call will pick up as well after the holidays hopefully

It's a Premier casino cruise and the last one I was on had a decent roll call

Already anticipating the next casino invite because in this current one it states if you take a premier the next offer is gong to be the Ultra one 😜😜

From the countless hours n hours of researching 😆😜 I've found out that offer should be available approx 2nd week of July 2016.... Were going to book a 2nd 2016 cruise then for December

When things get slow here I even started going back on NCL CC pages reading reviews etc 🙈😆😆😃

OMG, LOL! I thought I was the only one. We don't cruise til February. Did the same thing as you and read all the Pride reviews, and when I ran out of those now I just read all the new reviews as they get posted. I'm obsessed and I still have like 90 days! I'm on here all day long!

Obviously LaCal you are not alone as seen by all the responses. I too become obsessed and my husband thinks I'm crazy.

Anyway, we were on the Conquest in July and loved the ship and its crew. We are going again for the New Years Cruise.

The nicest thing about this ship (and this class) is the adult pool section in the back of the ship. Nice & peaceful with no kids running around!

It will all be worth the wait and will be here before you know it!

Happy Sailing!

And my DH thinks I'm the exception because I plan early, read up on all I can, look up deck plans so I know where everything is, research and check out tours (private and carnival), read reviews, research getting to port/ hotel etc, etc., etc. I am the only one in the family who prepares like this. So it is good to read I am not alone.

Yes, yes, yes, to all and everything that has already been posted. And....I may very well be the only 45 year old woman that buys stickers....for herself and not kids... For each cruise, I make a planning book that has every confirmation number, every aspect of all my research, everything is in this book. And then, I trace all of the handwritten information with different color highlighters. AND THEN... I buy stickers that have a beach, travel, or fish theme and stick them throughout the book like a kindergartner. The further off I book the cruise, the more colorful and full of stickers the book for that cruise becomes. Silly I know, but it brings me joy.

I have only been on one cruise last year in January for the super bowl on the Ecstacy. Now we are booking our second super bowl cruise for February 2017 on the Triumph. I can't wait to book it in January. Lol...I've been on here anticipating our cruise. My fiancé and I say something about the cruise at least a few times a week. We are both excited. Last year was our very first vacation together his third cruise but my first. I had lists and watched videos...shopped, packed so much stuff in the car...we didn't want for nothing. We drove from Virginia to Miami because he didn't want to fly. Now he wants us to drive from Virginia to Nola. We booked our last cruise in October for January so you know I was looking up something every single day and ordering clothes. It's a great time to shop for summer clothes...everything is marked down. I have so long to go but to have it paid for a year in advance is going to be nice. More bargain hunting time for me. Im everything you described. Hehehe:D
