Thoughts on the "ROYAL REPLENISH PACKAGE"

you can get it any day of cruise and they will charge for the remaining days only. But once you get it you keep it for the remainder.

I've seen exceptions, but most ships will only sell a package unless there are at least 4 days left in the cruise.

2 Skim Milk Lattes-$7

1 Orange Juice-$3

Frozen Avalanche-$4

3-4 Mineral waters-$7

3 Waters-$6

1 Diet Coke -$2

After dinner Cappuchino-$3

Prices are approximate- but you get the idea

Just came off Anthem yesterday. I can tell you that for at least some of the items above, these prices are definitely too low.

Soda, with the 15% gratuity, is now $4.13. The fresh squeezed OJ with gratuity is over $6 and a frozen virgin daiquiri with gratuity is over $7. I didn't check the bottled water prices, since they didn't come up on my bill when the bars processed them.

One warning for those who choose the RR package...check your invoice in room often. I found over the course of 8 days that I had to visit guest services 2-3 times because the restaurants did not have the ability to process a drink (OJ or non alcoholic frozen) through as part of the package and we kept getting charged for them. I'd wait a day or so and they wouldn't come off, so I had to keep going down and having them credited. I was told that the dining rooms don't seem to have the "key" for package inclusions. We didn't have this issue with soda or water just through the dining room.

Also, my son stopped at the doghouse and asked for a soda, gave them his card and got his drink. However, he was charged. Seems that the doghouse doesn't have fountain soda so they gave him a can and charged him. He didn't know and the staff person should have told him that it was not included. Guest services did credit it back and I told him not to get a drink there for the rest of the cruise.

Just keep informed on your account so that you can make sure you get credited for everything that should be included on the package.

Just an fyi for future cruisers that there's a Freestyle soda machine inside the Seaplex right next to the Doghouse. Of course, you must have your mug to use it, and it's a PITA to carry around.

Totally great advice from njmomof2 to check your account daily. Indeed, it's good advice whether or not you have a beverage package. Mistakes happen, and you don't want to have go get on line at Guest Services the evening before disembarkation!

Royal Refreshment package is just a soda package, the package you are referring to with the fresh juices and specialty coffees is the Royal Replenishment package.

You are correct sir. A mistype on my part. I meant to say the Royal REPLENISH package is a great deal in my mind. Darn Royal for naming their packages almost identically. I would be really confused if I had the alcoholic package and then tried to type on CruiseCritic.

As an aside, is it just me or is the fresh squeezed OJ harder to find than before?

We eat in the MDR for breakfast when we can (we prefer it). I think it was our trip on the Allure last March where the waiters always seemed upset when I asked for it because they said they had to run up to the buffet to get it for me. They really did not like it when I asked for a second one halfway through my meal because I enjoyed the first one so much.

The previous year we were on the Independence and they had the machine right there in the MDR so it was not an issue. Maybe they should do this on the Allure as well?

Hi Everyone!

I'm a first time RCCL cruiser. I'm not a big alcoholic drinker, but I do like to have a Pina Colada every once in a while, when onboard. Since I'm not big on alcoholic drinks I figured this might be a good package to take. It said it includes premium coffee, premium tea, and bottled water, including sparkling and still.

Does premium coffee include the Starbucks onboard or not?

Has anyone purchased this package, if yes, was it worth it for you?

Thank you!

No Starbucks.

So where do you buy it on the 2nd day? I only remember seeing them being sold on the first day. Thanks!

The soda packages come with a cup right? You give the cup to the waiter/server for a drink but what about your ID card? Can you take the cup with you on a new cruise?

The cups have a special chip embedded in the base that will stop them from working with the Freestyle machines after your cruise.

What about coffee on Adventure? What coffee is covered under the royal replenish package on that ship? Isn't there a Starbucks in the Royal promenade?

No dedicated Starbucks venue, but you can get specialty coffees at Cafe Promenade. They may or may not serve coffees made with Starbucks beans there.

I sailed on Nov 21-28 and the cafe promenade used Illy coffee. It was delightful.

Anything was eligible for the package. They also have decaf, we would always get a large decaf latte/Capp/mocha etc after dinner.

Hope I'm not hijacking the post but if I get the Royal Replenish pkg (includes non-alcoholic cocktails) but want alcohol added a couple of times, would I pay the price for the whole cocktail or just the price of the booze?

You would pay the price of the whole cocktail.

It should be less expensive to get your "free" non-alcoholic cocktail and just order a shot of the alcohol you want.

Unless the bar you are at runs out of that specific fountain soda, and they are pouring from cans. It does happen occasionally.:)

Yes it does :) I've also had them pour from the 2 liter plastic bottles! This was at the casino on Voyager. I can't recall whether they didn't have a fountain, or it just wasn't working/had run out

It can work that way, but then again, their shot prices are high.

I bought a Bailey's then put it in my iced decaf latte one night. :) Pretty sure the Bailey's was the same cost as if I'd just bought the whole thing up front (then again I doubt a bar-made latte could have been decaf or iced).
