We are sailing on the Conquest in April for an 8 night Eastern Caribbean cruise...I've been trying to find out when the two formal nights are.....

Any help?

Thanks!

We departed Saturday - formal nights were Sunday and Grand Turk (Friday).

Sadly, no Red Frog Pub - but, she has the Red Frog Rum Bar on the Lido.

Conquest class ships includes Glory, Liberty, Freedom, Valor, and Conquest.

We just debarked on December 20th. Great cruise. We really enjoy Conquest class ships! Food, service, and staff excellent. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to answer.

is there an adult area on the Conquest?

Hi llski - I can't answer your question, but my wife and I will be on the Conquest in June. We're from South Bend, and the first CC member I've seen from our area. I hope you have a great cruise and weather is good for your travels.

We've been on the Liberty twice, and it's still my favorite. Looking forward to our cruise on the Conquest this coming May. A note to those that are sailing on her for the first time. Assuming the deck area around the Aft pool is the same as the Liberty, the deck gets really HOT in the Caribbean sun. You will definitely need flip-flops (or sandals) to protect your feet. Otherwise, you'll be doing the "ooh-ooh! aah-aah!" dance. ;)

I suppose the Conquest is okay. It's the ship that our last two Carnival cruises were on. After sailing on Sunshine, Conquest seemed older, more boring, and somehow disappointing (however, you're on a cruise ship, so it's still fun in that regard). There was no serenity deck, and not as many food choices as the Sunshine had...there was one of the restaurant spaces in the aft that had nothing in it at all--except it might have been used for the late night snacks area.

I would pick Conquest over the Fantasy class any day, but if it came down to another Conquest class ship or one of the newer ships, I would probably not go with the Conquest.

It is not a dining room, it is the Degas lounge where the comedy shows take place and where different parties ( see Diamond/Platinum party and Premier casino cruise parties) and activities take place. The aft pool and hot tub on the Lido deck is adults only, and by default it is the serenity deck.

We just got off of the Conquest (NYE cruise). We had an amazing time. The ship was in much better shape than I thought, based on some of the comments I've read on line. Everything was very clean. I was even looking for some of those "torn rugs" or peeling paint in corners and couldn't find any. There was a little rust on the outside of the ship in a couple of places, but by the time our cruise was finished, everything had been painted over. We were on the Liberty two years ago and loved it, too.

No serenity deck on the Conquest, but we had an aft wrap and didn't really need it. The adult pool in the back always seemed like a nice place to be.

The air conditioning in our room worked great -- we actually had to turn in down a couple of times because it was too cold. We thought the food and service were great.

The lido deck always had some kind of carved meat plus several other main choices and tons of desserts. Guys Burgers was to die for.

Sometimes the promenade deck would get very crowded before dinner when all of the photographers were working, but a little patience worked well.

I thought the shows were very good, but sometimes the singers, although good, were continually "belting it out." As a musician, I would have liked a little more subtlety now and then. We LOVED the live musicians. There was a string trio that was GREAT. The brass trio was also very talented. All staff were very friendly.

I can't imagine anyone not having a good time on the Conquest. We sat with a number of very experienced cruisers (one couple was on their 99th) and they were having a great time and loved the ship. Hope you have a great time too.

I think you may have misquoted me by mistake on this, as I wasn't talking about the Degas lounge. I am talking about empty restaurant space on the Lido which they only use for late night snacks. Such a shame, it's nothing more than wasted space on the ship really. I hope they come up with some good use for it soon.

Anyone fresh off the Conquest have suggestions for the Eastern ports of call? Went to the ports of call forum- not finding much to help, remarkably.

I have looked over the Carnival excursions, & none are really yelling, "Pick me!"

Thanks!

They had the same thing on the Liberty when I was on her a few years ago. An unused space at the back close to the pizza which was only used for a late night snack buffet.

It does seem like a waste of space.

I too was curious about what it was going to be used for, and after returning home, I asked my PVP.

She said that it was supposed to have been the new revamped location of "Off The Grill" that was on Lido which was replaced by "Guy's Burgers" and was going to serve some of the old Carnival favorites that "Guy's" no longer served such as the veggie burgers, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich, hot dogs etc.

She was genuinely surprised when I told her that it was never open or manned except during the late night snack buffet, and that those items; particularly the veggie burgers, were no longer available on the Lido.

So perhaps the space was originally intended for that use and the plans fell through, or maybe it's something that has yet to be implemented. Either way with space on the ship being at premium it does seem like Carnival would want to use that area for something other than late night snacks.

I was on Conquest last October and that food service area in the back was NEVER used, not even for late-night snacks. The Pizza Pirate location offered an expanded menu after 11 pm, though, that included lasagna...and it was quite good!

This. My mom blistered her feet so badly that Carnival treated her in the infirmary and provided a wheelchair for the rest of the cruise. There was a woman at the infirmary at the same time who had also blistered her feet.

I'm definitely going to check this out when I'm on the Conquest. Late-nite lasagna sounds divine. Ok, actually lasagna at anytime sounds divine to me. :D

Oh, also: One other curious omission from Conquest: the Mongolian Wok. It's not a big deal for most, but I really love that dining option.

Sadly, Carnival is removing the Mongolian Wok from all of its ships. The reason (which I read on here) is that (sadly!) they cant' put people through the line fast enough. It's too slow to cook individual orders for all those passengers. The line always wrapped around to the other side of the ship. :(

What did you do at each? We are beach freaks...we do like to see out of the way places though-in Roatan, I prearranged for a private taxi/tour-he even took us to his home (waterfront-we watched the ppl swimming with dolphins).

After reading about Jack's Shack on GT, I have pretty much decided that we will go there. ;) thanks!

It seems that it's already gone. :(

This list of the dining options doesn't show it. http://www.carnival.com/cruise-food/?shipCode=CQ

Another page on Carnival's website listed a handful of ships that still have it, but Conquest wasn't one of them. :(

We sail on April 16, the 8-day itinerary. What about you?
