Greek Cruise Decision! Croatia (No Athens) or Chania (With Athens)

Looking at two RC cruises.

 

Vision leaves from Venice, includes Croatia, Ephesus, Santorini, Katakolon o

 

Jewel (refurbished) leaves from Rome, Includes santorini, Ephesus, Athens and Chania (Crete)

 

Same Price. We are doing a european visit, Flying home from Rome. If we do the Rome one, we wont see any of Venice, If we do the Venice, we will still see Rome by take train to rome for 3 days after cruise.

 

Will I be sorry not to go to Athens? Is Croatia nicer than Chania?

I would choose Athens if you are interested in ancient history at all. It is thrilling to experience the Acropolis and the other sites. Plus you figured out a way to get to Venice and also see Rome. Croatia is very nice but you have to visit Athens once in your lifetime. Jmo

Tough call. There are other cruises that might pick up both.

 

If there were the absolute only choice, I would take Athens.

OP would be missing Venice (and the chance for a Venice sailaway) to include Athens. I love Athens, but I think Venice + Rome + Dubrovnik beats Rome + Athens + Chania. :confused::confused:

Oh. I read it wrong. I thought he'd adding a Venice extension. So the question should be Venice or Athens? Venice trumps Athens hands down in my book.
