The Captain was just on with the Harbor Master and was told they would try to have a pilot onboard in 30 minutes.

Wow, tough day for the Oosterdam.

First reports indicated that the Oosterdam picked someone from the water.

 

According to my friend who had been onboard this past cruise they did not find the ship, and thus did not take anyone onboard.

Back from dinner and they just said to call when they had clearance and the pilot would be there within 15 minutes.

They announced full clearance at 8:20PM so now just a pilot to go, and away they go

They haven't announced anything [lately] on the ship, but the captain did tell us what was needed for clearance and departure.

It arrived late this morning due to the search at sea last night. Do we know officially that they also had a mechanical problem, and what type, delaying departure even more? Not just "hearsay" but official news?

We are in our seventies and between 8:30 and 9 we are enjoying after dinner drinks. :D

The Oosterdam was part of a search and rescue effort from midnight until 5 AM until the Coast Guard was able to get an aircraft on site. Seas were rough. Unfortunately, when we left no sign of boat at that time.
