You also might try posting on the MSC board here, under Cruise Lines A-O; the Cunard board and P&O-UK board, since they both have a lot of sailings from Soton. EM

When you add the cost of getting from your hotel to a public transportation facility, and any cost of getting to the cruise terminal itself, to the fare - you might want to consider the comfort/convenience of your own private car - service -- particularly if you could team up with others from your roll call to share a van. For not too much more, you could make that part of your cruise experience a lot more pleasant.
