Early Flight Time Advice-Miami Airport

In my experience, make it as late as possible. Have seen people miss their flights due to slow customs at the port and slow check in at the airport. Taxi to the airport is not usually a problem.

If you arrive at 7am, I wouldn't consider anything before midday, if your flight is domestic.

Better to be safe than sorry.

What is the earliest flight time anyone has had leaving out of Miami. We are docking on a Saturday morning at 0700 and plan to do walk off. How early of a flight could we possibly make?

I made a 955 after disembarking NCL Escape - took one hour from 730 to 830 to disembark and was at airport at 9. I checked luggage. I have TSA precheck.

It was a bit stressful but was ok.

We were told not to book before noon. We were due to dock at 7am. At 6.45 they announced we could get off so we quickly finished our breakfast and walked off. We grabbed a taxi out front and were at the airport at 8.15.

Luckily the airline let us get an earlier flight. :D

If you get off quickly before the crowds it's very quick. I think if we waited half an hour it would be congested.

If you do not like stress i would book a flight at around Noon.

You just never know at not only Miami but at all USA ports might go wrong from a work slowdown/stoppage by the local union or a delay in immigration or you could be the unlucky one who customs stops to go through their luggage.

Drive from port to airport is about 15 min or less.

Problems may arise depending on how fast immigration is working.

If you are a US citizen/resident, it's pretty fast.

I believe that if you do early walk-off, anything after 10 am is fine.

However, if you don't want to worry about it, just book your flight around noon as others have previously suggested.

The questions are simple:

Is Customs and Immigration set up on time with enough agents?

Are you carrying off your luggage and first in line?

Is there an issue with traffic getting to the airport?

Is everything working fine for checking in your luggage?

Are you TSA pre approved to be able to go into a shorter security line?

Is security working fast that day?

Are you a person that handles stress well?

Do you have a plan "B" if there are issues with any of the above to fly later?
