never did it from an excursion but my wife and I stayed at atlantis for a week and was lots of fun. It is actually 4 hotels not one they are spaced far apart but are all connected by hallways. There are lots to see and do if you get chance do the dolphin or sea lion event especially if you got kids you will enjoy it

We took this excursion for our Christmas cruise - we weren't overly impressed for the high cost of the ticket. There were literally thousands and thousands of cruise boat pax there and the lines were really long. The line to ride the iconic slide was about 90 minus so we skipped it. The aquarium was amazing and the lines very maneagable but water activities were packed to the limit. We visited with a family who was actually staying at Atlantis and they commented that they were disappointed at the number of cruise ships that came there each day - they said their only peaceful time was after 4:00 when the cruise ships departed but the rides closed at 5:00 so they only had a few minutes to enjoy. Crazy.

If a waterpark is a "must do" for you...then go for it. Check out the Comfort Inn and suites next door...they have passes for the waterpark, too...at less money.

If you have real waterparks near you at home...skip this one, and go to the REAL one closer to you!

this is the one we are doing through resorts for the day. I am weary about just doing something without asking. for 4 adults its 493 which includes water park, etc. Thats 120 each. Otherwise I see it for 189.00 each.

The things that always strike me about the Atlantis are the insanely long lines and huge crowds everywhere. As others have said, it's an enormous property, consisting of several hotels and condominiums (The Reef, The Cove, Royal Towers, Coral Tower, Beach Tower, the Marina) ranging from budget to luxury, but all giving their guest access to the same water park, aquarium, etc. In addition to the thousands of guests staying and living at the Atlantis, add a few more day trippers from cruise ships and you'll get the picture. IMHO, it's a waste of money due to the limited amount of time and because of the crowds. And don't forget that all food and drinks at the resort are ridiculously expensive so plan accordingly. Don't get me wrong, it's an impressive property, but in a Disney/Vegas kind of way. Not what I'm into on a Caribbean cruise.

A few years back, you could go to the Atlantis and walk around freely. Then they started limiting access to certain areas as the property and crowds grew, but you could still get into the aquarium without paying extra. The last time we were in Nassau on a cruise ship (summer 2014), we took the water taxi to the Atlantis Village ($5pp) as we've done before only to learn that they have tightened things even more. Now you can't make it past the shops and casino without being a hotel guest or a day tripper on a pass.

We were in Nassau on a quick land vacation last fall and we planned on staying at the Atlantis, but after remembering the horrific crowds from our day visits, we opted to stay at the much calmer Melia on Cable Beach.

We are not planning on getting anywhere near Paradise Island or the Atlantis next time we are in Nassau. Although I'm somewhat tired of this island, it's a necessary evil on many itineraries so I've been researching other alternative activities. We are leaning towards the Balmoral Island and Stingray encounter which gets excellent reviews and, best of all, it's not over run by the 14,000 cruise passengers that are normally dumped in Nassau on any given day.

My two D's have been begging me to take them to Atlantis. I'm not into the hype. The first cruise that stopped in Atlantis was detoured.

The next time we were planning to stop in Nassua, my D's met other kids on the ship whose parents were more than happy to take mine to Atlantis and save us the $$$$$.

My kids came back unimpressed (surprisingly) and one even had a bout of food poisoning (she believes it was undercooked chicken fingers from that she paid $$$$ over by the pool hut).

Having been to Nassau now a few times, I have no desire to return. Last time we used it as a port to just get out and stretch out legs, walked around the shopping area and returned to the ship.

The lines must depend on when you go. We went in September, and honestly...we barely had any lines at all. The day we were there, it was rainy, so I'm sure that was a big deterrent for some. In fact, when we got there, many of the bigger slides were closed due to weather. But we toughed it out, and after an hour or so...it cleared up enough that everything opened up.

My kids really liked it (ages 12, 10, and 4 at the time).

We went using the Comfort Inn day passes...but we were able to do it using Comfort Inn points. For some reason, while it is way more expensive than a normal Comfort Inn when using $$$, it was relatively cheap when using points! It cost the same as a normal stay in the US.

For us, it was a no brainer, bc it was so cheap...but it's hard to say if it's worth the money or not when you're looking at a much larger tab. I thought it was very nice...but that's a lot of money (to me).

it is a lot of money, I agree, but they agrees to paying one-half and I pay the other. So its not too bad that way. I told them that I don't pay for the excursions since I paid for the cruise. Its all of our first cruise. I figure its an experience, and hopefully a good one. I am looking forward to the aquarium and will do some of the water park....... aint going in no slide enclosed.... NOPE...... not me. We are going May 29-June 2. I believe we will be there on that Tuesday (Monday is Freeport). Its Memorial day week for us, so we are expecting it to be crowded. I just want to make sure that Resort for a Day is for real and not a scam.

Resort for a Day is real, not a scam. I am a TA and our parent company owns them. They are constantly negotiating deals with resorts and expanding options. My clients that have used Resorts for a Day have been very happy with them. One even said it was the highlight of the trip!
