Radiance Aft Deck 9 or 10

Would you choose an AFT cabin on Deck 9 or 10? I like the idea of being higher up, but I worry about the windjammer deck being above the cabin. Not sure if one cabin has more shade or overhang than the other? I'm leaning towards Deck 9.

This would be for an Alaska cruise so maybe there would be a lot of people taking pictures from the outside area above deck 10? Or perhaps more noise from chairs being moved?

oh and I tried to grab 9256 but it was taken. That was quick! I called at 5am (itinerary was released last night) LOL!

Definitely Deck 9. We are on Radiance for the b2b Vancouver, B.C. to Hawaii to Sydney in September and we have 9256, 9258 and 9260. We specifically chose NOT to be under the Windjammer as we were under the Solarium on our trans-Atlantic in 2014 on Legend and every morning up at 5:00 a.m. the staff started moving carts, tables, chairs, etc., around getting ready for the day. Needless to say, none of us slept after that.

The only reason we were able to get those cabins was because we called within a half hour after the cruise opened! I was watching very closely! LOL

Also a fan of deck nine. We had JS on deck 10 under Solarium cafe on sister ship Serenade this month. The scraping of chairs on that tile floor above us every time they cleaned drove me nuts, as would being under the chairs scraping above us on outside area WJ in the aft too.

Able to score 9256 for our 8/16 cruise....both legs B2B!! :D

Oh wow...ok....I'm glad I went with Deck 9. I was seriously considering making the change. I booked 9260 :) Thanks everyone! Deck 9 it is!

Deck 8 is the best deck!

You should grab 8168 as it is the best balcony cabin on the aft.

8172, 8170, and 8672 are OK too if you want to be in the center.

Hmmm...those are good too. And all subjected to personal taste of course. I prefer deck nine for less vibration from the engines below and the larger balconies. They get smaller on the wraps as you go lower.

8168 balcony is smaller than 9256. DH needs lots of room to spread out doing his

sun lizard time. ;) Though I sure would not give up either one! :)

There is no "vibration" and if there was it would not be different in 9256 as opposed to 8168.

There is plenty of room on the balcony of 8168. Each deck up results in about 1 foot more depth but it is negligible. The loungers still fit just fine even down on 7172.

8168 was available, but when I asked if wrapped around like 9256, the agent told me no. I think we will stay with 9260...but if I had known it wrapped around just a bit, I would have certain considered it.

It does wrap just like above and below. Agent is wrong.

However, even if you are out as far a possible you cannot see down the "side" of the ship. Just think of it more as a corner. The ones in the middle are cool too but just not as wide.

See the videos I posted. ;)

We've had 8672 and 8172 and loved both. Photo below is 8172, the balcony was longer than at the corner

I suspect by longer you are talking about the depth. So deeper but less wide. :)

The views are great from either one but I think the corner is better.

PLUS... No one ever passes by your door when you have the corner! ;)

We had an aft 9660 on Jewel and we felt just a slight vibration. We noticed it, but it didn't bother either of us.

I felt more motion in the casino than I ever did in the aft. (a lot more)

I never felt any vibration in the aft. (mine was on Serenade)

OK. Enjoy your lower docks then!

Actually, I think the entire aft section has LOTS of vibration on this class ship....only bothered me as I was trying to go to sleep.

Agree with you as usual. :)

The engines are, at least from what I remember, somewhere down on the lowest deck.

IMHO the closer you get to the source.... ;)

I think the worst vibration of an aft cabin we ever felt was the Presidential Family Suite on deck

six of Freedom. OMG!!!
