Live Hockey in the EA Sports Bar?

Sailing on the Conquest in 11 days ( :) ) and was wondering if people were able to watch hockey in the EA sports bar?

 

There's a couple of Lightning games that will be played during our cruise.

They will often show a couple of games and sometimes you can get lucky.

I wish.... but never seen hockey... I think they get ESPN..

Travelling late May, playoff time. Is it a better chance they might show a few games?

If the game is on NBC you will get it. I've caught some hockey on board.

Probably not. We were there in early February and it was all basketball. They have a Blackhawks jersey hanging in the bar, but no hockey to be found on board.

Last time I was on, EA sports bar gets the networks, ESPN and espn2. So if a game is on one of those channels, you're good.

I've seen some hockey on the sports bar TV's, but I haven't seen a game played live in the sport bar yet.

You are correct, but they do have a tracker going along the wall with updates throughout the games. I remember last year going there and back to the casino for scoring updates during the NHL playoffs last year.

In general, Carnival's sports programming is substandard. And unfortunately it's hockey coverage is next to nonexistent, with the exception of a national game on NBC on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. NBC Sports Network and the NHL Network are not available. Go Lightning!

People go into the sports bars on board thinking it will be like their local sports bar and show every game. However, it is pretty much limited to what is on the big four networks (NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX) and ESPN.

 

Beyond that, your local favorite team is shown on regional networks like Fox Sports, Comcast Sportsnet, etc. that are not even a option for the ship satellites to pick up.

We watched the Stanley Cup final in the sports bar in 2013. It was listed in the fun times for the day, but we had to ask them to turn the game on when we got there. Unfortunately I've never been on a cruise during the regular season, but I'd imagine if the game is being nationally broadcast and there isn't something on that has a bigger draw that they'd put it on at the sports bar if you asked/the channel was accessible.
