Yes, it happened. You've got quite a following now. :D I just found the link to the review (attached) It's Sunbird21's Dream review over Christmas, another poster commented and she replied that she was heading over to read yours (Post 138)...and I followed right along over to NCL's boards. :D

Again, if it doesn't open to page of comment, it's Page 7, Post 138

So glad you had a better experience on the Breeze.

Oh ok. It's funny how sometimes I will start reading something and see reference to my name or a review. :o

Definitely a better experience this (next) time around.

Take your time, I know it will be worth it! Gambee's is a 9 day cruise and he is only on day 2, so I will be entertained by him for a while. Hope you had a great time!!

I almost don't even want to start it yet with Gambee and Jammans reviews going. It's almost too much. :p But...I guess I'll do what I can while I can.

So are you playing penny slots with a 50 cent bet?? I don't ever play so I wasn't sure what I was looking at......but thinking about taking a shot at it.....you always seem to have pretty good luck!![emoji857]. And I wouldn't lose my money in 5 minutes like I would playing blackjack!!

Yes, the penny slots. They range anywhere from usually .20 to 60 (sometimes even more) per spin. Then of course you can double, triple and so on up to several dollars per bid. :D I was probably playing the minimum most of the time.

I was looking for your review on the Breeze & saw that you had an extra review on Jade so had to read this first! I hate that you got sick but at least it was the end of cruise & not during it! I would also report your steward's behavior to the company, he was so rude! Now I'm off to read your review on the Breeze. I'm going to be busy on reading reviews between you, Jamman, & Gambee for the next few days!:)

Hi Kim,

Just wanted to thank you for your awesome, detailed reviews. I love reading them, and they have helped to make my cruises more enjoyable. Even some of your ship comments have helped me to either be prepared or aware of different things. So far my favorite "copied" excursion has been Blue Kay. The snorkeling was awesome! I saw a huge flounder resting on the sea floor and then swimming away, and I don't know if I would have noticed it if it wasn't for your reviews. Going back next month and can't wait!

I'd like to add my thanks too!

Great review, great pics.

I just booked the Jade to celebrate MY 50th! Vegas would have been an option, but I'm going there with my mum 2 months earlier.

Thanks for such a detailed thread!

In case you think I am stalking you, you would be right. I loved your review of Carnival Breeze and had to check out this review also. What a way to spend time waiting on my cruise. Thank you for your wonderful way of sharing!

Aww thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it and glad you like reading them. If they help you out in any way, even better. :D If not, then at least it's entertainment right?

So glad you had a great day at Blue Kay. I thought the snorkeling was pretty great too...for it being right off shore and a place that you would normally have to take a boat to reach anything worth seeing. You really gotta look close for those flounders. Tricky little suckers. :p Have a great time when you return.

I'd like to add my thanks too!

OMG we did a Jeep/snorkle excursion there in Cozumel , I am always just bummed when i realize it is time to go and STOOOOPID me hasnt taken any pictures!!!! But the snorkeling there was the BEST have seen, better than T & C's and Bermuda ! I had totaly forgotten the name of this place till I saw your pix! and it was only in January! And YES it was SO maddening that you had to walk all the way through the mall to get to the vehicles!

Another nurse who doesn't drink coffee and dislikes water and loves her soda.

I was a big Pepsi drinker for 20 years then somehow switched to Coke Zero.

That said I AM trying to cut back!!!

Oh my. I can't imagine years of nursing school and the struggle because it was absolutely the hardest thing I have ever done in my entire life, then to just stop and do something else. I mean obviously it happens, but I can't even begin to put my mind in a place that I could possibly ever think about doing this.

That's funny you went to Real Estate because that's something I was in to prior to the nursing goals. I worked for an agency and I was the one that did the flyers, put the signs out, did the pictures and virtual 360 tours and listed them on MLS and I even did showings and all the paperwork. I enjoyed it so much that I went to school to get my license and right after graduating...the market came crashing down. I was devastated that I had spent all this money for schooling and then all of a sudden home prices plummeted to about 1/4 of the price. :( So I nixed that idea and moved on. Now that the economy is starting to recover, I sometimes wish I did that on the side. I am a home LOVER and love to go in to various homes and see the different styles and decor...and of course dream. :)

Cheers...with a Pepsi! :D

Ok, time for a break. I need to work on some other things now...especially preparing for my upcoming cruise. I had made out all of my folders and envelopes of money were sorted and when this Jade cruise came up, I pulled it all out and remade the folders, recounted the money and used it for our Jade cruise. Now it's a complete mess and I will have to start over. :o So time to work on that for awhile and rest my eyes from this computer.

I'll be back maybe later to answer questions and start on the review again hopefully tomorrow. Not much more to go.

I am really enjoying your review. Please elaborate on your envelope /folder system. Thanks.

How I organize each of my cruises...

I make an excel spreadsheet and label the tabs for each item:

Air there

hotel

ship

(port-with the name of the port)

(port-with the name of the port)

air home

I research on how much it's going to cost me for each tab.

For instance air there

I would have cost of flight

$$ for snacks there

$$ for lunch

For hotel I have:

Cost of hotel

Lunch or dinner needed while at hotel

trip to get soda for cruise

taxi to cruise port

tip for porter

Cruise:

Cost of cruise

casino

pictures

gifts for sakari

specialty dinning

...and so on

Ports:

cab to place

food while there

any entrance fees

shopping

....and so on

Once I'm done with my research and I know how much everything is, I make up folders.

Inside each folder I will have an envelope with the correct $$ I have on my spread sheet. I print out my spread sheet to go in it. I will put maps in there if needed, contact information or emails with confirmations and anything else that pertains to that folder.

I keep them all in my carry on purse to take with me all the way to the ship, then they go into the safe and I just pull out the folder for that day to take with me.

:D I've been doing this for 30 years and it just helps me keep organized.

Awesome review! It was the first one I have read of yours and I really enjoyed it. As a fellow student you'll be happy to know i have used it to procrastinate from finals. I am excited to look through some of your old reviews that have your adult children in them. I am right around their age (27). If there are any that you would suggest I start on I would really appreciate that. I am doing most of the ports you did in this one. Unfortunately we seem to like very different excursions. Ocean life really freaks me out, I will get in but I don't want to see anything! I tried getting over this in the Cayman Islands and while I was proud that I didn't have a meltdown but it didn't make me any more comfortable.

Also you daughter is adorable! I am super single but seeing the fun times you have with her made parenting seem like so much (I am sure it is crazy hard though)

Thanks and I hope you have a break from school soon!

This is very organized, but I would be nervous having to travel with so much cash on me. I usually put everything on my credit card and only take a small amount of cash. Of course, I have the money in my bank account to pay the credit card bill. I had cash stolen out of my wallet in a hotel room in Florida years ago, and that has made me very nervous to keep a lot of cash.

Hi and glad you enjoyed the review. My daughter is 27 and she's my best friend. We try to do everything together and love the same things.

I just had 2 weeks out of school and now it's back the grind again.

Since we try to do anything that involves water or the beach, if it's available, that's what we're doing and what my review will be on. Your fear of things in the water sound just like my daughters boyfriend. :D The only other things I can think of off the top of my head that we have done would be things like cave tubing and zip lining. Both are a lot of fun.

I hope you find something that works for you and have a wonderful cruise.

I try not to take many credit cards with me due to the thought of someone getting a hold of that as well. They would get a lot more from a cc than the cash that I take. I usually take one for emergencies only. Also I have read so many horror stories about people that have used cc's in port and been ripped off with scanners and so on (only finding out about the charges after returning home).

My daughter (Sakari) told me about them (from watching commercials of course) and you get them from finfunmermaid :D

Just back from the Getaway. So glad we fallowed your lead and went to Blue Kay. Had a great time. It was my friend's son's favorite port.

Aww, I'm so glad you had a great day there and hope you had a wonderful cruise.

Can you tell us how things went as far as the $5 fee (with drink included) that some people are reporting? It seems like some are charged this amount and others aren't. Did they charge this at the time you were there?

Hi. I am an avid reader of all your cruise critic trip reports and enjoy them very much.

I'm sure you answered this somewhere but where did you buy the rolling cart that you use when buying your sodas? Does it fold up and fit into an outside pocket of a suitcase? I looked on Amazon and there were only two but got terrible reviews, saying they were so flimsy and tore easily.
