Thanks again for a great review, I have bought the Tough Camera on your recommendation, and love it! Also have the Olympus Pen, too. I feel like I am cruising right along with you. Can't wait for your next review :)

So glad I found your information on Playa Planacar. I always read your terrific reviews and have been pleased with your "favorites" and info. Loved Blue Kay...Thanks!

We are headed to Coz again in September and are pretty set on Playa Planacar or the twister boat to Isla Pasion. We have been to most all the beaches and attractions in Coz. ( Chankanaab is our favorite, but want to do something different this trip).

Would appreciate your input on the difference in beaches, etc. between our taking the twister to Isla Pasion or Playa Planacar (we would do the snorkel trip there). No children with us and we're both very active.

Thanks so much for all your input!

Well thank you very much on your compliments and glad my reviews have helped you in the past.

Ahhh, the dreaded "which beach" question. hehe :D I get these all the time and they are so hard for me because each beach is so unique and for different things.

I do have to say that Passion Island was SO BEAUTIFUL. Like seriously thought it was an awesome island...just unusable ocean the day we were there. They can't control mother nature of course, so no fault of Passion Island. Had the water not been so rough and no "stingy-thingys" in the water, it would have been perfect...well, other than no shade at all around the ocean area and the palaya's sit way back from the water. But seriously, the sand and the island is just gorgeous! Although we didn't get to do the Twister (not offered by NCL), I think it would be a blast!

Playa Palancar is a nice place too and we seriously picked that place for the peacocks. :p I just knew that my daughter would love them (she draws them non-stop, has me buy peacock feathers when we go to the craft store...she is just hooked on them). So, it was a little treat for her. I wouldn't say it was one of my favorites though. Maybe it was just the beach itself and the "hill" or drop off to the water and not much flat beach before going in the water. There were a lot of shells getting in the water too, so you have to be careful with the tender feet (if you are tender footed...which I'm not and can run on rocks if I have too).

So, just IMO...if "I" had to pick, I would pick Passion Island just based on my experience. (Although I imagine the time of year you go and the amount of people that are on the island could make the day as well). :)

Oh, I don't know what the guys on the Twister are like...but I do recall the "rudeness" of our "boat" guys that brought us over and their little speech and trying to stop us to make us take pictures with their photographer. Other than that...the service was superb! :D

Wow, what a wonderful review, and you pictures are fantastic.

My BIL and SIL are going on the Jade this coming January and asked us to go with them (most of the same ports you went to on this cruise). We are really torn. We have cruise Disney and RC, Disney being our favorite.

We would love to give NCL a chance but really not sure with all the bad luck and bad food you seemed to have. The ports you went to though were beautiful and we would love to try Little French Key. I need to read some more of your reviews on other NCL cruises before we make up our mind.

Thanks for all your wonderful work on this report.

Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed the review and pictures. I very rarely have ANY issues with NCL. It has been our #1 cruise line since we started cruising again in 2010. Don't let this one review discourage you. ;) :)

Thanks for your reply. We are definitely thinking about doing this cruise. We only did a 2 night our of NYC last February and put a deposit down for another cruise so this would be perfect. The ports you went to sound wonderful.

I have read other reports that sounds great so we will keep an open mind.

Thanks for such a wonderful review! I love your thoroughness! I travel on the Jade in Nov out of Tampa. Cannot wait for the cruise! Would you tell me the kind of coffee pot you had in your room? Janice

You are very welcome and I hope you have a wonderful cruise on the Jade.

Eek, I have no clue about a coffee pot. I don't recall seeing one, but then again I don't drink coffee so I'm not looking for one but I don't recall one being in my way.

Yea, I just went back and looked at my pictures...there wasn't a coffee pot. But we did have an interior, so not sure if that's a factor. Honestly I don't recall a coffee pot being in any of the rooms I have ever stayed in including balconies or mini-suites.

I enjoyed reading your review of the Jade as we will be on a cruise in Dec of this year. Where can I find your review of your latest cruise. I think you were on a Carnival Cruise sailing from San Juan? Hope your eye has healed from the surgery.

I have not started it yet. We didn't get home until early Tuesday morning (well the middle of the night-morning lol) and school started for me this week. Week one is always the "hectic-busy" week. I will try to start getting some of the pictures (4000 of them) together over the weekend and hopefully at least start it some time soon. :) (Yep, we were on the Fascination out of San Juan)

My eye is great and seeing 20/20, but still healing. I still have a little bit of "glare" at night with lights and they said it would take awhile before that completely stopped. So I'm finally happy with the results and will probably do my other eye either around Christmas or next summer. Thanks for asking. I appreciate it. :)

mitsugirly, thank you so much for your reviews on the Sky and Jade. We are booked on both, the Sky in March, and the Jade for March,2018. When I spoke to my PCC isid to him that I hope they don't remove the Hawaii themes, because that sets the ship apart.

You are very welcome. I loved the Hawaiian theme on the ships and you are correct, it does make them different (another reason why I love the Spirit as well with the Asian theme). :) I hope you have a wonderful time on the Sky and the Jade.

Great pictures and great review, did you happen to see the cigar lounge/bar? Not sure if I missed it

Thanks for the comment and I'm sure if they had one, I probably seen it but didn't get a picture of it. They usually have one in that 2nd atrium area on this class ship (and located outside the casino area I believe). :)
