kasowell2 Posted March 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2016 We have been on four previous Solstice class cruises and know there is a cosmetic store on them . We will be on the silhouette later this month and the other half wants to know what type of makeup and cosmetics are sold in the store. She's planning on how,to,spend that OBC. Anybody remember? Iamthesea Posted March 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2016  I don't recall there being a cosmetics store on any of the Celebrity ships, but perhaps I just missed it. I guess there could be a few cosmetics tucked in the sundries shop. There were perfume shops at one time. I can't say they are still there, however. I really don't do much shopping when onboard. 20pluscruises Posted March 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2016 They did at one time have Clinque, Chanel, Estee Lauder and La Prairie. Small selections of each brand

There's a cosmetic/perfume shop still there, at least on the Eclipse. On deck 5 down from the World Class Bar (or Molecular Bar). However I didn't pay attention to the brands of cosmetics sold there. helen haywood Posted March 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2016 There would be enough cosmetics/perfume that she could buy some things. Not enough selection to forgo bringing her own cosmetics and plan on getting everything on board.
DrivesLikeMario Posted March 13, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Yes! Definitely don't let her leave her regular make-up behind. IME, they're often out of a lot of things or have very limited supply.

Karynanne Posted March 13, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Clinique, Lancôme, Dior, L'Occitane(I always buy hand cream), and a decent selection of perfumes.

You can tell how observant I am about the shopping. I am usually in a hurry to get to or from a show to notice what the salesmen are trying to get us inside to see. Unless I absolutely needed something from the shops, I do not stop. ;)
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted March 13, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 13, 2016 On Solstice Class ships the cosmetics shop is not down on same floor as the casino and main shopping area. It is on the next floor up where the higher end jewelry and handbag stores are. It is on the starboard side of that floor. When I sailed Equinox in December, they had L'Occitane, Clinique, Dior, and, I believe, Estee Lauder. They also had many perfumes and colognes. They do not carry so-called drug store cosmetics such as Cover Girl, Maybelline, Revlon, etc. If your wife has a specific favorite item, she had best bring it with her because she may not find exactly what she wants in the small shop. Desertbelle Posted March 13, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 13, 2016 I agree, while they have many items available their color selections are very limited. I ran out of a Chanel product on a cruise and they carried it, just not in the color I normally used. Also, the items are not cheaper onboard, though there is no sales tax and they are duty free. schlimazel_traveler Posted March 13, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 13, 2016 The Clinique prices are the same as at, say, Lord and Taylor. Although it may be tax-free. If you have more on-board credit than you know what to do with, though, I guess it makes sense to pick up something you'll use.
Rare Cruise Raider Posted March 13, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Also, if you find it onshore, I believe they will match the price in the shops. This way, you can use your OBC but still not pay more for it while onboard.
ChiGal1962 Posted March 13, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Just a warning -- the one time I was looking for makeup on board, I found an Estee Lauder lipstick that was closer to twice the price I would have paid at home. I went lipstick free :)
