qualifiedcruiseologist Posted March 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2016 I have heard of people saying that they get to cruise for free because they have had an offer from the casino on board or something like that. What does this mean? Can you give me some examples why a Cruise line would offer you a free cruise?:)
NLH Arizona Posted March 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Caesar's Casino Group and other Casinos often gives some of their customers certificates for a free cruise, depending on your level of play. You can also get a free cruise or discounts from NCL's Casino at Sea or Celebrity's Blue Chip Club (not sure if other lines have something similar). The free cruise or discount is dependent on how much you gamble on the ship. Edited March 23, 2016 by NLH Arizona
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Some cruise lines will do this as hotels do this. They might give high rollers a free cruise because they know they will send up wagering (and potentially losing) a lot of money. Remember, in life nothing is free. There is a cost in the end. In this case, the expectation that in the long run the person will lose a lot of money. Keith
calliopecruiser Posted March 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2016 If somebody gambles a lot they may get a perk like a free hotel stay, and a cruise is essentially a floating hotel. The presumption is they will continue to spend a lot of money either on things like food and alcohol, or on more gambling
Elaine5715 Posted March 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2016 A woman on my last cruise won over $20,000 during the week on video poker that I saw myself. She had 29,000 points by day 3. I have no doubt she was going to get a free return cruise offer. She was also betting $2.50 a hand.
