Does a US citizen need to have a passport when cruising on the Pride of America ?

No, all you need is a government-issued photo I.D. which includes a passport or a valid driver’s license with a photo. A U.S. citizen under the age of 16 do not require a government-issued photo ID.

No, because you never leave the USA.

Port security at all of the ports requires a photo ID. It may actually be checked several times before you board.

Yeah but for us in New Mexico, people are always asking if we have a good exchange rate. And places won't ship things to us because we are an international destination.

Even still, I am sure that they would let you sail on POA without your passports;).

We will be on POA soon and as we are coming in from Australia we will have our passports with us but would prefer to keep them in the cabin safe. Will our driver's licence with photo issued by the government of Western Australia be sufficient for getting on and off the ship? Or do we need to carry our passports with us while on the cruise?

Your driver's license will be fine. You'll only need the passport for arriving and departing at the airport coming and going back to Oz.

The name on your cruise card must much the one on your driver's licence, and the photo on your driver's licence must match your face. :D:D

This is what we used when cruising on the POA. We kept our UK passports locked in safe and used our Bermuda driver's licences.
