So excited we just booked our 4th trip on the Dawn!

Can't wait to see what she looks like after the refurb.

Have heard lots of rumors. Anything confirmed regarding the changes?

Moderno moves to Star Bar. O'Sheehan's comes in and also takes over Blue Lagoon as well.

Photo gallery goes digital. iConcierge.

Refresh to carpets, pool deck, stateroom TVs.

What happens to Pearly Kings? Have heard it becomes and wine bar or a Jimmy Buffet bar.

Read Gatsby's becomes mojito bar.

Read there will be windows added to Spinnaker somehow.

Anyone know what's true?

I would guess that what's going to happen is a blueprint of what happened on

the NCL STAR - noted in RED between lines below.

For all intensive purposes since the Dawn and Star are sister ships my guess is NCL would try to keep things the same - but it is not an exact science !

Guess we will have to wait to see what develops out of dry dock !

Anyone with better - the latest scoop - insider - information ?????

Moderno moves to Star Bar. O'Sheehan's comes in and also takes over Blue Lagoon as well.

This is what happened on the NCL STAR Moderno moves from Deck 8 opposite of the Blue Lagoon to the an area forward and adjacent to Cagney's Deck 13.

The Star Bar becomes the Sugar Cane Mohito Bar.

Photo gallery goes digital. iConcierge.

Refresh to carpets, pool deck, stateroom TVs.

What happens to Pearly Kings? Have heard it becomes and wine bar or a Jimmy Buffet bar.

Pearly Kings becomes the 5 O'clock Somewhere Bar.

The Wine Cellar (bar) is in the same location just outside of the La Cucina Deck 6

As for Jimmy Buffet bar ???s and a wine bar ???s

Read Gatsby's becomes mojito bar.

Gatsby's stays in same location called and is still called the Champagne Bar - The Mojito Bar replaces the Star Bar next to Cagney's and Moderno.

Read there will be windows added to Spinnaker somehow.

That would be NEW and different - was this done on the Star after Dry dock ?

Anyone know what's true?

I suppose they could re do the Bimini Bar and Grill into a Margaritaville That would be one less free place to eat and one more Fee place to eat.

I suppose unless someone has insider info, we won't know until she comes out of dry dock in June.

Any idea how Cagney's and the star bar transform into Cagnney's, Modernos, and the Mojito bar? Any idea where space is stolen or reclaimed?

Read there will be windows added to Spinnaker somehow.

That would be fantastic! We haven't been on the Dawn since the relocation of the Spinnaker... and it's obviously less than ideal where it's currently located. I imagine aft-facing windows would make a significant improvement.

Why is the dry dock so long?

I know they removed two Bermuda sailings in June and added one more Caribbean sailing to May and the original amount of time was either 3 or 4 weeks - which is still about the same amount of time. And yes they will have a day or so between NOLA and Freeport and several days between Freeport and Boston to begin teardown and finish final details.

We have only seen a list of enhancements - we have not seen the list of maintenance items. NCL does not need another botched dry dock like the Star - which cost them more than if they had scheduled the same amount of time in the first place, perhaps they learned a lesson there.

What happened on the STAR had something to do with the Star's Azipod

Propellers not being serviced correctly - thus the trip through the Panama

Canal had to be done sans passengers to avoid a cruise from hell like

Carnival experienced. The dry dock at Portland OR could not be re-arranged

so the ship was ferried to Freeport in the Bahamas for repairs since it was

going to be positioned for a Miami TAL crossing. YES a very costly mistake

as there were no fare paying passengers thru the Canal - which ain't cheap !

Interesting. Looking at the existing Dawn Deck 13, I was under the impression that the blank white space was back operations / kitchen area. This apparently gets claimed as part of Moderno.
